Exterior I think the new i10 looks better but the older one is okay. neither are masterpieces though.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I love every bit of the car interior, so does my wife and daughter. we are all of average height and build, so space is enough. feels surprisingly well built for  korean car.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine could do with a little more low end power below 1500 rpm.  fuel economy is terrible. without the ac full city driving gives a mileage of about 13.5 km/lit. switch on the ac and the car gulps petrol like water, the mileage in city is a shameful 9.5 kmpl. my alto drops milage by only 1-1.5 kmpl with the ac on. spending rs 6 per km of travel is quite high. to add to the problems is the heavy clutch. if you are in a start stop traffic for long your left leg will start aching. i am not sure if these problems are unique to my car but at service they told me nothing was wrong.

Ride Quality & Handling If you are at the wheels it is fun to negotiate traffic and drive fast in a straight line. dont try chucking your car or fast cornering, the skinny tyres just dont have the grip and the tall stance makes the centrifugal force really obvious. this is typical power without responsibility you see. if you are sitting in the rear ask the driver not to go fast over uneven roads- you would get thrown and bumped around. my family does not like sitting in the rear seat. you see i could do with a 2 seater i10. if you are a sedate mature driver or passenger and use the car only to commute from point a to point b and are not bothered about enjoying driving this is the car for you.

Final Words I think the power of the engine is not matched by the handling of the car, very much the opposite of fiat cars where the engine does not keep up with the excellent ride and handling.

Areas of improvement My car was serviced thrice for free and when i got a tyre puncture i could not remove the tyre as it was stuck to the rim by rust. can you believe it, they had not rotated the tyre even once during service. they told me that the rust was because of regular washing-- hyundai sell your cars only in rajasthan and sahara maybe camels there will not question you.

adequately powerful and easy to drive in citymilage drops drastically to 9.5 kmpl with ac, body roll and jumps make back seat uncomfortable

Initially thought of buying Santro XO model but when heard about PA/i10 decided to wait for its launch...

I am driving Magna version of i10 from last 1 month. I really like the car, especially interiors, pickup, gear positions, a/c is powerful  and suspensions. Till now I didn't find engine noisy at all.

      So far I enjoyed it...

Pickup, interiors, suspensionsService I got from Kothari Motors, Pune was very poor, looks like they don’t need any more customers

You could be forgiven for being confused about buying a small car with the no. of choices available , with the i10 the competition has got thougher , funky name aside the i10 looks to be hyndai's saviour . It looks much better than the santro , with its european supermini look , though some may find favour with the cute looking spark. The insides are terrific , much better than the santro with biege finish , it has innovative touches like the gearstick on the console itself . Space is good , though rear feels a bit small thanks to its  curved roofline .Performance though isn't good ,after taking a test drive i feel the santro is more resposive though the i10 felt smoother & its gearshift was better than the santro . The i10 is loaded with features but is also a bit expensive , but as a package its unbeatable with its looks , interiors , equipment . Its better than the spark , santro & is the best small car to buy .

good equipment levels , looks , interiors, mileage of 15 kmpl (overall)a bit expensive , engine not powerful enough for a hatchback

      HI,
I Got my i10 ERA model (Electric RED) in a weeks time on 19th December 2007. Basically I am a learner in my car and have done about 1400 kms so far. I am using for about 50 kms a day in Bangalore Roads.  I had experienced a mileage of about 11.5 - 12 (Without AC) kms in highly congested Bellary -Majestic Roads.  So I decided to take for a long drives. I travelled for about 200 kms out on highways and had got 17.5 and 17.3 (without AC repeat without AC). Last week I took another longer drive of about 400 - 600 kms covering Bangalore - Mandya - Mysore - Chamarajnager - Mysore and got a mileage of 19.6 kms (without AC)  and from Mysore - Mandya - Melukote - Nagamangala - Kunigal - Bangalore I got about 20.62 kms (without AC) mileage. I could experience the higher mileage when I was driving between 75kmph to 85kmph constantly This is my first top speed.  rest of the mileages were between speeds 60 - 75 kmph. I got the first servicing done. Now I need to test for the longer drives with AC which I shall put forward in the near future. Hope fully I feel comfort and getting used to my first car experience.

I bought I10 sports on 01/01/2009. Its 2500kms old. I had compared A-Star Zxi, Swift Vxi, WagonR, Indica Vista physically & features before finialising I10. One of my collegue was already owning I10 1.1 Magna.

I10 has excellent road grip i.e power steering is excellent. Look is better than A-star, WagonR & Indica. Interiors are great. Infact many of my friends have asked if this is factory fitted interior ? Pick up is very good. Milage is better than Swift & I20.

Overall: Good car. Value for your money.

Note: Pls do not compare this with Nano.

Excellent road grip, cool interiors, great pickupAbove average milage

Pre Sales Experience I got the delivery of my new i10 Sports on 09th Feb '11 from Mukhesh Hyundai VIP Rd, Kolkata and let me tell you I'm not at all satisfied with their behaviour with a new customer. I really would choose some other dealer unless someone influnced me that they are the biggest in kolkata. I would not suggest any reader to book any hyundai model from this dealer and if we do that, it would definitely cut the extra fat from them.

Exterior Escallation apart, i'm happy to get this new masterpiece from Hyundai. Its really a iconic car in the segment of modern hatchback. I came to know there are total 15 different model that are running in the name of i10. Might be hyundai is not finding a new name for this newly designed car. I booked the i10 Sports and not selecting Sportz option only because it has steering mounted audio control and one airbag which cost me around 60K more. Apart from this everything is same in both the cars. Hyundai has equiped the sportz model preety well apart from the fog lamps which I feel should be coming with sportz model. Also they have put an blinker in the orvm and omitted the side blinker altogether. Apart from these two, the car looks so nice and decent. The color I chose was the blushing red. The finish seemed OK.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The factory fitted music system is quite ok and the sound quality is good if you compare with other factory fitted music system in this segment of cars. As SRK said, the blue back light is really attractive. Apart from this the legspace, which is a major constraints for most of the hatchback, i10 passed successfully here. I'm 6' tall and i haven't face any legspace problem in any of the seats. I personally like the super quick cooling of the AC, which I liked. The soprty seats and matching dashboard is also fantastic. I personally think the next gen i10 models have the best interiors than any of the previous models. The two tone interiors look nice, but the plastics feel very hard.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Hyundai claims this Kappa 2 engines are the most refined and give 20.36 kmpl but you know these are in testing condition of ARAI. Still I like the engine and this 1198cc touched 0-100 is 8-9 seconds. I get a rough 14+ milage from it with full ac on all the time. Though some one suggest me don't calculate milage before the first free service. I'm not good in calculating milage, so lilbit variation might happen.

Ride Quality & Handling Very comfortable both in high speed and low, and handling is just like other power steering handlings. Nothing so special in it.

Final Words Let me tell you, take a test drive of this new champ, I'm sure you will love it.😊

Areas of improvement Better and stylish steering wheel, better horns, tyre diameter to be increased(13" is backdated), sepate pannel for digital clock, back seat light, remote control of the music system...all minor things though. 😉

New style, Decent legspace, Fine roadgrip, Excellent coolingOverall length, NO diesel option, Missing foglamps in Sportz model

I purchased the car on 29th Jan from Garve Hyundai(decent dealer) Pune and have driven it for 1300KMs. I had considered A-Star, Santro, Beat and Brio.My father has a 2000 model Santro but the new Santro makes you feel that they have cut costs by using cheaper materials in the interiors. I liked driving the A-Star but felt the boot space was too small. Also it doesn't sell much so resale value might be low. Beat was also rejected on the grounds of poor After Sales Service.Honda Brio has a long waiting period due to Japan earth quakes so I bought the i10. Since the purchase the cars' performance has improved with time. The pickup is way better now and the gear shift is also a lot softer.

      Exterior

The exterior design is just amazing. Particularly the headlamps and the rear reflectors on the bumper.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

The blue lit display panel is very cool. The gear shift indicator gives very optimum hints. Beige and grey color interiors look really classy.  Steering wheel is a little too close to the body when compared to how far the clutch and accelerator are (my legs usually hit the steering wheel while entering the car) . I also purchased the optional reverse parking sensor it makes it really easy to park the car in reverse when one doesn't have someone to guide you.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Other than the over excited second gear the performance and pickup of the car is a delight and it has gotten better with time. Although in the beginning the shift to reverse gear was hard but it has become easier with time. The travel of the clutch is longer compared to older cars like Santro, Zen but one gets used to it soon.

      Ride Quality & Handling

The handling of the car is great with the ultra smooth power steering. The shockups could have been better as the car really shakes when going over bumps.

      Final Words

I would recommend this car to anyone who is looking to buy a small car. It is an excellent value for money car and is worth every penny that you spend on it .

      Areas of improvement

      Shockups need work.

Beautiful car, great interiors, smooth power steering, awesome display panelShockups could be better.

There are so many cars nowadays in the 4-5 lakh segment. Then why this car? Because it has got everything that you look for in a small car. It has got the power, the best interior in its class, superb ride comfort backed by the aftersale services  of a company that has proved its worth in our country. Hyundai has the second best aftersale services here but regarding quality, they are a notch above Maruti. I had a choice between the swift and i10 kappa, eventually went for this car. I had been driving a Maruti 800 for last 5 years and I was fed up with the endless rattles and the indifferent attitude of the Maruti service centre guys. I had also driven my friend's swift and apart from the driving pleasure it  had nothing new to offer. It also rattled like a rattle snake which I could not digest when I thought that it was a premium hatchback costing 5 lakhs! The interiors are so dumb in a swift, just look at the AC & ventilation control knobs in a Vxi model, the plastic feels so cheap and is very similar to that of Maruti 800, really annoying when you think that this a 5 lakh+ car and is stated to be a lifestyle car!

Regarding driving pleasure the i10 kappa is not lagging though. Sit behind the wheels and you are greeted by the biege interiors. All the controls are very well placed. The gear changing felt so easy, its just like a knife cutting through butter. Let me tell you that sitting in the driver's seat felt like I was driving a big car and that I was in total command, thanks to the very good seat position and the good design of the dashboard . The drive and ride felt so smooth, you will really fall in love with this beauty. Regarding the build quality I think nobody can raise an eyebrow, not even the most ardent Maruti fan. It has class written all around and there is no rattle till date.

But as they say that every good thing comes with a few negetives, this car too has its share of shortcomings. The rear seat is not very good particularly for a very tall person but this is an issue with almost every small car. When you negotiate the potholes and speedbreakers you have to be extra carefull, more so for the comfort of the rear seat passengers, although this is not very disturbing but Hyundai can definitely improve the suspension of this otherwise beautiful car. The ride quality is much better than santro and it is like that of the swift in my opinion. The 2nd thing which bothers me is the absence of any front impact beam. I just could not make out what went through the minds of the designers of this car. The Hyundai people tell that it was done for the engine subframes which dislogde the engine in case of any frontal collision so that it does not hit the front passengers. But inspite of this theory they could have provided the front beam just like the santro which could have been a great protection for minor hits. I had researched a lot and asked a few of my friends who have i10, although there were some negetive feedbacks in the net regarding this frontal protection issue but the feedbacks I got from some actual owners were reassuring many of whom bumped but there were no damage done under the hood. Nevertheless I still think that Hyundai should address this issue and provide an impact beam in the front as to me this is only real drawback of an otherwise perfect car.

I have tried my best to give an impartial review with all the positives and negetives which I felt as an owner. But the most important thing is whether you are satisfied or not at the end of the day and what you are getting in a package. I am really happy that I have made the right decision to buy this fabulous car amongst so many choices, after all you cannot change your car every now and then, more so when you are from a middle class family and have budget constraints.

Great interiors and great performanceExternal looks particularly the headlamps, could have been more visually pleasing

hi everyone , i had a few drives in the new hyundai i10 , and as a car resercher i love to test and drive al sort of cars and give a report to you people to make your buying easier

the Exterior - Exterior on the fron Nose looks very good and has good styling , but the rear taillights and the design doesnot look all that good

Space - Space on the inside is just fine and suitable for a family of 4 and it can squeeze in 5 too , and overall the space seems to be slightly better than the Santro and WagonR

Performance - the Engine 1.1 IRDE is quite good in handling and performs quite well and is much improved and i refined , the power is Decent and good

Interior - the interior is very updated and is the best in its segement , the Biege and black combination has been perfectly done by the hyundai and so is the gear box , very nice to Shft too

Fuel Economy - when i was testing and as the car was new i got 13KMPL in city and 16 in highway with AC , but one can expect the milage of i10 to be around 15 KMPL in city and 17- 18 in the highways

VALUE FOR MONEY - yes its indeed value for money , but i feel its slightly overpriced by 10k rs , cut Down the 10k rs and its a great Value for money and is the Best Overall Family Small Car

Thats it from me , hope you liked this Review

      Cheers!!!

Good Interiors , Good fuel economyPriced a slightly higher by 10k rs
