Hyundai Grand i10 [2013-2017] User Reviews

I brought this vehicle  (Grand i-10 Magna Petrol) on 11th October 2013. And its going to be three months. After purchasing, five times I had visited Service Center. Initially the problem started with the Battery draining issue. After the software updation and re-installation of the Battery on 27th Nov 2013, the AC in my Car is not giving good Cooling effect. Since then my visit to the Service cente,  contacting Call center to raise the Compalints, etc etc. After which the service team notice some unexpected noise coming from the Compressor(AC), which is then replaced with another AC compressor. But till now the AC Cooling Effect is not rectified. The interior of the Car is not getting Cooled. Now as per the Dealer it is been notified to the Hyundai Company for the recification. I am now waiting for the Hyundai Team Officials to check,identify and recify my Car AC issue. All my Excitement of buying this Car is now vanished. Waiting for the Hyundai team Officials to sort out this issue professionally. Else I am forced to take the stern legal action.

Exterior I have purchased my car from Popular Hyundai, I purchased it on December 2015. When I ordered the car I asked them how old it will be. They told maximum one month. So I was expecting a car manufactured on November, but I got a car manufactured on April. I had purchased an i10 earlier and had no issues. So didn't suspect anything will wrong. So I received a car that is already 8 months old. Once I reached home I realized that Air filter pipe is damaged and lot of corrossion on the parts of Engine. Also they haven't done underbody coating they have offered to me. I had got this written in paper while I ordered the car but it was not done. After a lot of fight at the time of first service these issues resolved. But when I gave for 1st service(I gave this purposefully in their another showroom so I got the the info that underbody coating is not done). The problems doesn'e ends here, when I gave for first service I realized that the delivery date of my car is 31-Aug-2015. The actual delivery date is 19-Dec-2015. This issue is not yet resolved even I had registered complaint with Hyundai. So they had made a delivery on 31-Aug-2015 in someone else name to make a fake sales figure. So I even suspect their sales figures are wrong since they sold the same car twice. I liked the car very much but I have faced lot of issues with the dealer. When you purchase a car make sure you done pre delivery inspection. Once you received the car you cannot do anything. Even I registered a compaint with Hyndai nothing is done apart from a 5000Rs cash back offer that I haven't accepted yet. So better you don't purchae a car from Popular Hyundai or please beware of all these issues.

So the issues for me is since it's manufacturing date is April when I sell I will get less price. Lot of time I had to spent to get parts replaced. Also if they don't reolve the delivery date issue I will get less warranty period only.

Final Words Make sure you do Pre delivery inspection.

I purchased this grand i10 asta (o) Petrol & pretty happy with the car. I would give detail 

review of the same for those who are looking to buy this car. 

                 I am not a car expert as it is my first car so sorry if I miss something. The review

is based on car driven for nearly 150 Km. 

                 Also it is a experience i had with my Grand i10 and not comparison between any two cars.

Exterior

Hyundai Grand i10 looks good. It has stylish rear headlamps. The design is pretty good.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

3 average people can sit at the rear but it will be little uncomfortable for long journey. 

Rear ac vents are very useful. 

                 Its a feature loaded car. Parking sensors, ABS, Airbags, 1 GB inbuilt memory, Engine 

START/STOP, Glove box cooling, Driver height adjusters, Rear defogger & wiper,

bluetooth control, Keyless entry, Arm rest switches, Tilt Steering, Electric adjustable and 

foldable mirrors etc

              The music system is nice.

P.N : Some of the features mentioned are available only on top models i.e asta (o)

                   I am little bit dissapointed that EBD is not provided even on top model.

Ride Quality & Handling

Ground clearance is a problem. To avoid this just slow down when you notice a speed

breaker.

I read some reviews but didn't face any : 

Problem while overtaking but my Grand i10 petrol face no such issue. May be it will with 

diesel Grand i10.

Also not heard any noise while reversing the car.

Final Words

Its a feature loaded car. Just go for it.

   Bargain hard then you might get some discounts. Also purchase accessories from Hyundai

only when you have no option.

I will post more details reagrding handling, gearbox, fuel economy within 1 month.

Exterior I bought Diesel Top Model with Optional features and I love its exterior however it deponds on person to person. 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior of this car is very very spacious , I have Swift Dezire Top Model Diesel but I like interior of Grand i10 much better both in terms of Space and asthetics even though seats of Dezire are more comfortable. Audio and Phone controls on steering are great. Voice quality to receiver while using Bluetooth is amazingly clear to the called party as well.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is Reasonably good, It is a mutch better car in City if compared to Swift or Dezire ( I use to have Swift Diesel and Currently have Dezire ZDI Diesel). However Swifts are far better on Highways in terms of handling and comfort while driving on bad roads at higher speeds.

Gear Shift of the Grand is very smooth and if I compare it to Dezire then Grand has much much smoother gears however Grand goes on 5th Gear after 80 Km/hr whereas Dezire can fly on 5th at 50 Km/hrs plus.

Fuel economy of Grand is comparable to Dezire which comes out to be 16 Km/Lt Average in City like Gurgaon whereas the milage goes up till 24 Km/lt on highways like Chandigarh Highway. Dezire seems to be slightly better in Milage.

Ride Quality & Handling Superb Ride quality in smooth city roads, Far better than Dezire, However it can not withstand rough patched as easily as Dezire does at higher speeds on highways.

Final Words Wonderful Fun Car with all features, Mine comes with Both Airbags, Reverse sensers, Button Start, keyless entry, ABS, Stearing Mounted controls and Bluetooth Phone support, Ipod connectivity support, We tested music with iPhone works great. In City..... This is best Car, Beyond comparison with any other I have driven like, Swift,WV Polo, Brio, Ritz, Figo, Beat etc.

Areas of improvement Provide Bigger Tyres with Top Model, Improve suspension a Lilbit for Highways.

I purchased the New Vehicle Hyundai Grand i10 Sportz model on 14 April 2015 from the KLG Hyundai Chandigarh. There was an issue with the Accelerator/Pick up even after changing gears and the acceleration doesn't go above 20Kms. It was not understandable that how a brand new car from a great brand Hyundai would have such troubles after running just 200km approximately.

The car was towed away from my home to KLG Hyundai showroom in Hyundai recovery van for rectification on 22 May 2015. After all the diagnosis by the technicians of the KLG and Hyundai it was found that the car engine is having some defect and it has to be replaced. The new car engine assembly reached in KLG Hyundai on 5 June 2015 and it was installed by KLG and as of now the vehicle is still having the same problem. Hyundai and KLG officials are saying to again go for a new engine assembly replacement.

I haven't got any communication regarding the rectification of the Vehicle nor the status of the vehicle by concerned people, I always have to call or send an email to get the status which always went unheard by the officials.

Their customer service is pathetic , No body listen to your concerns at all.

Exterior

 I was floored with the looks of the Car at Ritu Hyundai, Kalyan. They had a wine red colour on display. The tail lamps add to the style factor and the front styling too looks contemporary. I was keen on booking red wine, but booked stardust for a better resale :-)

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

 I did not expect the car to be so spacious being a hatch, it is infact spacious than swift (leg room wise). The push start-stop button, Rear AC vents, 2 din audio system are the sell factors. The interiors too seem new and refreshing. I had been considering Swift Dzire and Amaze and Grand i10(ignoring the price difference), i liked the interiors of Grand the most. Two people of good build can seat very comfortably at the back. 1 well build and 2 medium build people can seat in the back row. 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

 I was initially hesitant about the engine performance being only a 1120 diesel engine. Hyundai had sent the car to my home for test drive, but I couldn't check the engine power due to the road conditions, so i requested them for another test drive on the highway (which is near their showroom). I took another experienced friend of mine along and the car was just fantastic in terms of pickup. Though you dont get the kick you get in swift, but the power delivery was smooth in laymen terms. The fuel economy company claims is 24kmpl, but I am happy if i get around 19-20 average. 

Ride Quality & Handling

 I did not feel i was driving a diesel, the clutch and gearbox felt very light and smooth. Overall Exceptional.

Final Words

 If you are contemplating buying a hatch, this is the one to go for. 

Areas of improvement  

 Include rear defogger in Sportz variant too.The OEM horn is too weak.

We recently purchased Grand i10 (Petrol) Sportz model, we have driven only few km, but here are my reviews

Exterior: The car is stylish, fog lamps and headlights are sporty and apealing, Rear windscreen is bigger for a better view, chrome handles looks stylish, OVRM are electronically adjusted

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): Music system is average, Start/Stop push button facility is good, AC Cooling is good, cools the car within few seconds thanks to rear AC vents. Leg room and head is too good... 3 people of average size can easily and comfortably sit at rear seats. Tilted steering helps to adjust as per our need, cooled glove box works fine. Dual color Beige and black interiors gives a semi luxury feel inside car.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: Gear box is smooth, easy shifting of gears. Its been just 2 days we have bought this car so no idea about its fuel efficiency but as per ARAI they are claiming as 18Km/l, i hope they give 15Km/L

Ride Quality & Handling: Ride quality is good, at sometimes on bad roads you feel jerks but not that much. The supension is not so great, but still its good you dont feel big jerk even it drives roughly through big pot holes.

Final Words: Excellent featured car in its segment, has few first time features which other cars doesnt seem to have. People with 5.5 - 6 lac budget can blindly buy this car as it is loaded with some nice features

Areas of improvement: ABS should be there at least at the second top and top variant of car, improve suspension of car

 It looks uperb. Front is good but its the tail which steals the show. Much better looking than boh i10 and i20. 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

 This is a feature rich car. Top end comes with bluetooth connectivity, 1 GB inbuilt memory, Keyless entry, remotely Foldable mirrors and rear SC vents. I highly appreciate electrically foldable mirrors and blutooth hands free as these make the life easy while driving. Car has adequate space and sorts out problems related to leg and boot space. 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

 Engine is super silient but lacks the power on low RPMs. Its low end torque is poor as I had to face many haults admist busy traffic but once it starts rolling it performs flawlessly. Fuel economy is superb. I am getting 13+ KMPL in city and 18+ on highways. On an average I drove 610 kilometers on a tankful (42 liters) which totals out to be around 15 KMPL overall. Gearbox is very smooth though it has slight glitch for the reverse gear.

Ride Quality & Handling

 Ride quality is superb I must say.It beats both i10, i20 and any other car in it's segment hands down. Handling is also very good. My only complain with this product is power steering getting stiff. Initially it was butter smooth but now it feels stiff. Dont know whether hyundai will fix it or not.

Final Words

 Over all a great product. initial batches did suffer from battery drain issue but that is now sorted out. 

Areas of improvement  

 Power steering and low end torque.

I had purchased Grand I 10 Asta (Petrol) in mid March 2014. 

• I had problem with your dealer giving improper invoice details. 

Then for my peace of mind, I left the issue as it was not getting resolved & getting messed up, even after informing your regional office. The car had run smoothly first two months. 

1. Thereafter came the first Glitch - my car's battery drained. The Shivnath Hyundai service center sent their technician on my complaint, took the battery & fitted it back after charging.
2. Not even two weeks had passed, I faced another problem. My car's blower gets ON (full speed) as soon as i start the car. I went to Hyundai service center but had to return back with my problem unresolved. Service center executives weren't able to help, quoting non availability of spares. Few weeks later  on test and trial basis they replaced few parts and made my car in proper working condition, and informed me that few parts are still to be replaced which are not available yet and as soon as these parts arrive they will communicate with me. I had called them after a month but couldn't receive any response. As my car did not have a problem I  again left this issue.
3. My car's battery drained again on 18.09.2014. The Road side assistance technician jump started the battery.
4. My car's battery drained again on 02.10.2014. The Road side assistance has informed me that they will send technician tomorrow morning to jump start.

The reason quoted by the technicians explaining the cause of battery drain in case 1 & 3 was that i am not supposed to leave the car idle even for a single day. 
The above reason to me does not sound logical. Undoubtedly there technical fault which needs to be detected & rectified.  I am being tossed between RSA, customer care & dealer, with neither of them taking responsibility.
