binoy i dont know but today my car was not getting started for half hour.  But after half an hour it was started like normal. I called TATA and they told me there might be air in the system. I have to go to the show room tomorrow. what do u think?

Actually i have driven my car with very low petrol inside the tank, below that red mark on metre, so  is it possible for entering the air in the system. i have completed 8000km, but faced this problem first time.

As the car is working alright now-wait and see, the 'air problem' might have got corrected by itself.

As Binoy said, there may be other factors to Hard Clutch. In my experience I felt Hard Clutch sometimes (smooth sometimes and hard somtimes - like you did). Before going to the service centre, I just thought for a minutes and BINGO the clutch difference was because of me! I noticed that after a tiring day at worki, I always felt the clutch "Hard" and sometimes even the accelerator pedal seems to be hard. It is just that I was dead tired those days. May be you should check this aspect too.  I also feel that you are not comfortable with your car.  Any minor tweeks would irritate you. Except for AC your car should be fine.

It seems a fix is available. Someone @ t bhp had their ECU replaced , and the AC seems to be working better now. this was done for free, and will be done for the entire first batch of vistas

Hi,

I have to know something. Have you ever opened your bonnet and looked for the gear lever on the gear box? You will be totally surprised to see the endings of the small rods are made of blue, red, greeen coloured plastic. These plastic components are taking the load of shifting gears. In our Vista those plastic components broke twice. Replacements are done but it is again plastic. Our model is Vista safire aura.

So, I want to know --

1. Vista owners, is your component made of plastic also?

2. Is it true for other company cars?

Thanks.

Roy

1) not an owner, but the componet would be made of FRP .

2) many manufactures use 'plastic' components in drive train parts-its the quality of those that matter and not the material parse.

Dear All,

I own Indica Vista Aqua TDI bought during Dec'08.  But from the day one I am hearing the Noise from the front shock absorbers.  Inspite of several reminders and followups the service guys just applying the lubricant and nothing else.  But still I am facing this issue.  What could be done ?  How to get this rectified from Tata Motors.

As someone pointed how to get the replacement for the ECU for the first batch cars.

Thanks,

Siva

I think lubrication will not help - is not possible, as it contains sealed-pack lubrication inside.  Shim setting needs to be checked.  Additional shim/s may have to be added if there's a gap. If that doesn't help, ask for replacement of shock absorbers (under warranty).

Pankaj,

I am hearing this noise only when my car passes a hump or pothole.

What could be the issue ?

Thanks,

Siva
