Guys,

I had written an article about two months ago. There is no visible link of it on the site except the on-road price quote page. The link will be made available soon. Meanwhile please go through the article and let me know your feedback.

New Car Discount Negotiation Guide

The idea behind the article is to help new car buyers in terms of knowledge on various discounts available.

Looks difficult. Since you are already in dealer's catch, you may not have enough to fight further. However, you can bargain on finance and insurance still, I guess.

Verrry good article, BLS, very informative.

The only sad part is, the article has come AFTER I bought my car.SmileBut it will surely help the new buyers immensely, giving them a bargaining power.

Ban,

That is a nice guide you have documented. Sad that we could only see it now. Better late than never.

Thanks Banwari for bringing this to the notice of all.

The quantum of discounts would vary from car to car (segment/pricing point of view).  For instance, the dealer's discount for a small segment car would not exceed 10-15K while it would go up to 50K in case of high/er segment cars.  Like-wise, other discounts too would vary.

Pankaj,

The article is written to cater to all the segments. I have mentioned a range and have left it to readers' common-sense. But I understand it may be bettered further. Probably I will provide a table, segment-wise explaining all the discounts as per segments. It will help I guess!

In the lighter sense... Imagine Pankaj buying Alto & asking/insisting for 50K dealer's discount.  LoL.

That's obvious but I clarified just to avoid any confusion (a possibility).

Yes, tabulating the discounts (quantum) segment-wise will help but I personally don't think it is required.  It might also create some confusion (so many dealers/cities/policies etc.).  Anyway!
