The news have been coming in newspaper recently and other websites have confirmed that skoda is bringing Yeti to India by 2010 but will the car be really priced at 10 lakhs? will that be a seven seater competing innova and xylo or just another crossover by skoda having similar seating like Fusion?will it get the 1.9 engine from skoda?

here are the links

The yeti is based on the VW Tiguan and comes in 4x4 format-the price will be well above the 20lac range. Its also quite unlikely that the car would be launched here soon, as the market for the same seems to be growing smaller and smaller in these recession hit times.

What may well be lauched here would be the Roomster.

I have personally sat inside the 'roomster' version of the Skoda Fabia and let me assure you that the space is not extraordinary.

-hard to take in what is reported.

Reasons being

-the report shows the Octavia combi in the images and talks about the Yeti !

-the yeti is still a concept and there is no production version yet!

-the fabia 1.9 is pegged to cost near the 10lac range-wonder how the skoda SUV will be priced in that range.

-the 'official' does not mention the Yeti-only 'a new small SUV'-the rest is extrpolated by the ever so imaginative Adil !

As it says the officials have confirmed it, so it should be true.

I tried this and I had understeer, I tried that and I had oversteer, at the end of the corner I just ran out of talent!

The Yeti is still in concept car stage, dont think any of the detailed specs are finalised.

-the engine size and the price in the region of 10Lacs are highly unlikely.

1. I don't think that a SUV can get away with a 1.2 l petrol engine.

2. The price cannot be as low as Rs. 10 lakh.

3. I wonder why the Skopda Combi was a failure.

4. Does anybody have reliable information on the launch date of the Yeti? Has anybody read any reviews?
