Engine goes high speed

Hi

Is there any one who can tell me the solution of my tata indigo LS diesel car.  I have repaired the car after meeting an accident. Dainting  and painted work were done and the engine was mounted thereafter untouched.   I have drive the car nearly 400 kms in test drive.  Then I reported my mechanic to make smoother of its engine sound. He then adjusted some nut-volts and fix the sensor which he had not connected in the first time. Now its running smoothly on the road, but suddenly its engine goes high speed(full) with  louder sound and heavy smoke is moving out from silencer.   What fault is it?  Whether it’s the fault of PUMP(Lucas) or TURBO or SENSOR ?

Please intimate what is the problem…..either here on my mail id (sks79@yahoo.com) or on my mobile 09939145174.   I shall be highly obliged.

Have a look at the pipe connecting the intercooler to the turbo, it might be loose. Also check the ECU with a scanner and then reset.

He has fidgted with the sensor is it?

The sensor is the unit that sends the signal to the ECU to speed/back the engine.

I think the sensor may have been damaged while the mechanic was doing his bit.

I suggest you have the car put on the scanner, you will then know the exact issue.

I seriously hope its not the sensor prob, cause if it is. Then you in for a big repair bill.

Cheers

Doesn't faulty sensor also give starting trouble / delayed start?  In this case, as I suppose, there isn't any problem to that effect (not mentioned).

I'm not sure (not a technical person), but feel that the problem could possibly be due to some obstacle/conjestion in the fuel return-line or filter whereby the flow of diesel is not uniform/increases. In that case, cleaning/servicing of line/filter would resolve the problem.

Else, the problem could be related to Pump - servicing/repairing of which may cost 4/5K.

As a precaution, sensor too should serviced/cleaned - not a big deal.

thanx dear, now i m thinking to make servicing of my pump.

then if it doesnt cure i will also search for the place where ECU (wat it mean>sensor or whole electric line?) scanner facility is available in my city patna..

thanx again.....bye

Servicing of Pump should be the last resort - it's expensive (4/5K).  Therefore, try the other two possibilities first - if they don't resolve your problem, go for Pump servicing.

And, I feel (not sure), there shouldn't be any problem with the Pump.

Sushil catch your breath, dont worry scanning tool for the ECU(engine control unit-brain of the car) is available at all authorized service centers even at patna and they check it free of cost. Only resetting will cost some money-200-500rs/-

Dont go for pump overhaul as it will be costly and actually there is only a rare possibility that something is wrong with it.

Well that is not the case always- lambda or epsilon sensors are the most common to go wrong and the failure will show up with only the service light and nothing else. But other sensors make cause running trouble.
All ECU's have a 'limp home mode' which only uses a couple of  sensors to run the engine.
