If business sense prevails then Maruti will launch the SX4 with the 1.3 MJD with higher tune - 90bhp and not the 1.9L as it will attract extra tax(over 1.5L and thats 15,000/- more).
This they might do before the Linea is launched to garner a higher market share. But all this is speculation and nothing definite has come out.

Yes, nothing is certain yet - I enquired with the local dealer.  But it will be launched for sure - hopefully ahead of Linea, like pointed out by Binoy.

I believe Linea is coming in September. And I am damn sure that Maruti is not bringing the SX4 diesel anytime before this Diwali.

Binoy rightly pointed, good bet would be a tuned 1.3 MJD than a new 1.9L engine.

But I heard launch of Linea is likely to get postponed by a few months - say by December.

but what about the 1.6-multi jet diesel, I think this would be the best option and the launch would most probably be in sep

As far as i know there is only talk of the 1.3MJD(in both 75bhp and 90bhp) and the 1.9MJD coming to India..nothing of any 1.6MJD.

I am Unfortunate SX4 owner fallen in trap of high ground clearance.Bullock cart is better than this vehicle as for as at least ground clearance is concerned!!!.The performance is underpowered .Driving is not peppy and Gear box poses hardships during long drive.AC is shabby. So i can conclude that it is unsafe vehicle.Dealers though are everywhere they are not learned enough to consider real problems. They better be called "Maruti water wash service centers" !So SX4 diesel will be worse than petrol version

Jeevan, I've been following you.  Like I have said elsewhere on your above post.... one of my brother-in-law located at Surat owns SX4.  He travels a lot (city & more on highway). This is his 3rd car & he knows quite a lot about engines.  I have never heard him complaining about it - I've discussed a lot about SX4 with him.  Nevertheless, I have driven the car for 385 kms with one break. I, therefore, disagree with your review/findings.
