Foreign objects in the blower of SX4

Hi All,

This is related to my earlier thread (http://www.carwale.com/forums/ViewThread-3753.html)

I had the same problem again. The blower got very noisey and I stopped using the AC and the blower for a couple of days. The noise made me feel that if I continue to use the blower, something might get damaged.

The service guy initially told me there is a mouse in there. later when he opened the blower fan, it turned out to be a feather of a crow. I aksed him to inspect the car thoughly. I felt there should be some screen to prevent such particles. he said that it is nothing with my car SX4s have this problem.

My question is, is it true that SX4s have such a problem? has anyone else faced this? If not, what is the remedy? I can not avoid parking my car away from trees or birds etc.

what you can do is that you can fix a 'honey combed' net underneath the air intakes of the the AC(its usually just below the windscreen), my friend had a santro with leaves blocking the inlet and his problem was solved by this method. Its actually a non procedural job so have to get it done by a 3rd party workshop as most of the dealers will deny in fulfilling the work.
Also running in recirculation mode will also reduce the incidence, opening the windows for sometime in between will be enough to layoff the 'fresh air' mode which can aggravate the problem.

Real informative thread. Thanks Binoy for sharing your knowledge.I had lot of those leaves in the blower of my 800.

Had little noise[very mild]few months back, but it became allright on its own.

Aby of late i never switch over to the fresh air mode(also because the outside air is always stale!), and use 100% recirculation.

Whenever i feel the need for fresh air(less staler), the windows go down!
