my friend has a maruti 800 2005 model.
he want to change his gearbox to make it a five speed gear
can this be done. what is the actual price for full overhauling of gearbox please suggest.
It can be done, will turn out to be quite expensive, above 50K.
The gearbox parse have to be changed and not simply overhauled and a new ratio added.
This is not worth the cost involved because the 5 speed model has a better engine (about 10BHP more). If you are looking for more power then you may try FFE and K&N Air filter.
