Is Transport licence required for self drive..

Hello Guys,

                  I will be going to guhagar(in ratnagiri) tomorrow by a rented CITY which i'll be driving. The vehice is registered as a taxi vehicle with yellow number plate.

My query is :  Do i need to have a transport licence or my licence which is NT (Non transport) will be ok.

Please help me since i have to decide on whether to self drive or hire a driver.

License for driving a commercial vehicle (yellow plate) is different, and I think it comes with some badge number.
