Dear Friends,

I've been browsing this forum for sometime now and have found it friendly and knowledgeful.

I need your help. I have a Maruti Alto Lxi which has done approx 46000km. I have a monthly run of around 2000kms, hence would like to go for a CNG conversion kit. I am looking for an extremely reliable setup and hassle free installation. Price is secondary. Please suggest:

1. What are the good kits for Maruti Alto? I've been hearing that Tomasseto is good.

2. Please recommend me some dealers along with their details where I can have a very good and hasslefree installation. I stay in the western Suburbs of Mumbai, so kindly suggest accordingly.

Thanks and God bless...

I understand that approval for retrofitment is kit-car specific.  Go for original Italian kit.  Also have a look at this thread on Alto/CNG.

Hope someone is able to post some info on dealer in Mumbai.  In the meantime, please enquire locally.

Guys, just a heads-up to everybody:

I converted to CNG about a month back. I went for a Lovato kit with TAP installed as an open loop without the lambda. The tank is by Lizer. The emulator was from Techno. Rest everything is from Lovato.

The installation was good, there is a performance drop but I have changed my driving style and everything is ok. The installation was good but the tuning was on the richer side. I researched on how to adjust the kit and made very minor adjustments to the high rpm gas flow and now it's perfect... I couldn't be happer with moving onto CNG. My running costs are drastically low.

I get a mileage of 25km per kg of CNG and in Mumbai it costs Rs. 24.6 per kg. So my running cost is below Rs. 1 which is fantastic and lesser than even a motorcycle!!
