CNG kit for Spark

Hi All,

I am looking forward to get a CNG kit installed in my Spark Feb-2008 model ( 15k done) . The usage of my car has increased as my office got shifted from Noida to Gurgaon ! The dealer from which I bought this car is sell the kit @48k with RC endorsement. I have also found that kit is easily available in mid 20s in market. Would you please suggest whether I should go for dealer's CNG kit or outside kit is also good enough ! I am getting 3 years or 70k km warranty, the warranty for car is also valid for another year. An early reply would be highly appreciable.

I have also purchased spark and interested in fitting CNG kit. Warranty is for 3 years and I dont think it makes sense to wait for 3 yrs to complete warranty because the benefit i m getting after fitting CNG kit will be more than I am getting from warranty.

Has anybody installed CNG kit in spark? How much mileage can we get after CNG kit?

As per Pankaj, who is moderator here, there is no change in status of warranty after installation of the CNG Kit. I have read same some where else also. I did try to confirm this with my dealer but he refused. If warranty is valid then we should get the CNG kit install ASAP. My dealer say that avg would be around 20km per kg after CNG installation.

Even my dealer refused for warranty after CNG fitting. We can confirm this with company itself. However I dont care for warranty. I am planning to fit it after 4-5 months because I have just purchased the car.If you install CNG kit please inform here about the kit  and your experience.

Very nice to see the Knowlwdge Sharing posts of all members. I have a query.

I have chevrolet Spark which is now 2years old. I wanted to have an approved CNG Kit for my Spark but till this time the CNG Kit was not approved for Spark. Recently I came to know the same has been approved for Spark. I have spoken to ECOGAS and they say Argentina Kit will be good for Spark. They have Quoted Rs 24000 for kit including Lambda, Timing Advancer, 12 Kg Cylinder.

Please advise on the Best KIt for Spark. Also do i need to get 2 angles welded for putting up the cylinder before going for CNG Fitment.

I got CNG fitted from chevrolet dealer 2 weeks back. They are giving 3 years warranty or 70k km, which every is earlier. It is very costly though ( 48K ). My experience with service center has not been good but still I didn't want to be a ping pong ball between CNG fitter and service center. This was the only concern which forced me to get it fitted at this dealer. I am very much sure that if you get it fitted outside and if there is any issue (cng or non-cng) , service center would blame CNG fitter. If you know someone outside service center who can help you to diagnose/repair spark then you may go ahead with them.

i had installed cng kit on my sparkPS six months back. i am very much happy with the performance of the car know. it is giving almost Rs 1.75/KM in city.

I have installed Tomassto arhentina kit with lamda and advancer in lucknow.

very good performance.

I am happy my car was just 18 months old at the time of kit instllation

Mijo is a good kit but still compatibility issues may follow depending on which car you want to install it in.
