My Bajaj Pulsar was stolen an year and half before and now that the claim has been approved by the Insurance company , I need to transfer the Vehicle on the name of the Insurance Co.

I just wanted to know if I should go directly to the RTO office or should i go through the agents whom i found on http://noidapages.blogspot.com/.

I have heard that If you don't go through the agents the process is very tedious and takes long time. I have asked the charges from the agents and they have asked from Rs/ 1800-3500 for the same work and the duration varies from 3-5 days.

The motorcycle has the number of Noida,U.P. and is registered under the same RTO. It has to be transferred on the name of Insurance company having office in Noida itself.

I need suggestions from people if the money asked by agents is worth the effort they put. As I have a job and I work for a private firm, I may not be able to do all this on my own.

Saurabh, Welcome to CarWale Forums!

Before approaching the agents, check with the insurance company itself. They likely have a process for this, and your responsibility could just be limited to signing form 29/30 and handing over the Original RC to the Insurance company. Please check.

Please have copies and acknowledgements of any original papers handed over to the insurance company.

Let us know how it works out, once you check with the insurance company.

Thanks for the reply Krishna. I had asked the Insurance office and they said " You have to do all this, only then we will release the payment". I don't know if its their another trick to harass me. As far as i know , other insurance companies do this for you. Is their anyway I can ask them to do it as part of their responsibility. Is there any guideline for that ? I cant force them for anything as long as the payment is with them , until its a rule/guideline/practice which every company should follow.

I have posted a query regarding this here http://www.policywala.com/showthread.php?t=1083

The Oriental insurance has approved my claim after a long time only when i complained to IRDA about the matter. Nothing else helped be it legal notice , customer grievance cell , CORE and whatever. You will have to get the vehicle transferred in the name of the Insurance Company.

By the way, never expect others to be as concerned as you are - they will never be (obviously) Smile
