Given ideal conditions and equal coefficients of drag, the two cars will give identical top speeds.

In reality, however, there are a million small things that change that - weight, gearing, road conditions, weather conditions, tyre compounds, condition of the tyres, clutch, engine, quality of fuel... You get the drift, right?

Just wondering why carwale test for Dzire has not been done yet. Innocent

Would love to see a detailed report on the car.

Although it doesn't pertain to this thread, I'm going to answer that (my apologies in advance, moderators!) We've asked Suzuki repeatedly for their cars, but they're based out of Delhi while we're in Mumbai, so it becomes a logistical issue.

Charles:

Couple of questions on Safety and Maintenance.

I think the Superb is 5 star rated by EuroNCAP but I didn't find Laura at http://www.euroncap.com/home.aspx.  Where can I find the details of the 4 star (Front Impact) rating comment? Also, are there any other sedans that compare in the 1.8TSI range in terms of safety features (airbags, ABS etc.)?

Could you elaborate on the after sales issues with Skoda and is there are way to quantify the pain compared to Honda Civic as a benchmark in terms of additional rupees or time?

Lastly, when can we start getting actual headroom, legroom measurements?

Thanks,

Snehil

hey,

you guys should do an article about how much the maintenance of cars costs... like service/spare parts etc

for eg, a paid service for skoda laura, honda civic, chevrolet cruze, volkswagen jetta ...

was looking for something like that online... couldnt find anything relevant

heard mixed reviews abt skoda service quality... anybody with experience ?

Hi Charles:

I read your reviews very carefully because you provide unique insight and intrinsic info about the vehicle.. One generic question is that for 100kph speedometer reading,  actual speed is 94.8 kph, correct for Skoda.  So when you say 0-100 kph is 9.2 sec.  Does it mean 0-94.8 kph (actual) in 9.2 sec. - please clarify.  I was under the impression that international standard allow only +/- 2% tolerance in speedometer reading, in this case it is over 5%.

With all due respect, you don't expect us to buy your above logic that Suzuki is based in Delhi - an excuse which is totally indigestible, in my view.  I am among the few who have requested CarWale for a review of DZire because it is the need of time.  I have seen reviews for many Suzuki cars sold in India on CarWale and even the cars manufactured in Chenai and Bangalore.  At times, luxury cars not manufactured in India were also reviewed.

Best wishes with Dzire - it may be a Dzire of many.
