hi All

Is it true that power steering can be turned only when the engine is on ? Recently i noticed that in my 2005 Santro when the engine is off its very hard to turn the steering. When the ignition is on , its fine. Please advice.

first servicing experiance with my swift

hi guyz

i am with done my first servincing on 17 th nov

so im sharing my experiance with you gurus

total time taken by pathetic service guys :--8hours

total service charges they took frm me ------106RS

issue fixed -

1) my heart broken cluth plate burning issued is sorted out

they examined the cluth and they told only 3-5% burning ie there its normal as you are new driver no need to panic (its a very relaxing moment for me as it is my first car and dont wanna be like things happend to my sweet heart.)

2)-rattle sound from front left shock-ub----

they change bush and front component of the shock-ub but i think problem is stil there

today wen i drove my car again i feel the same sound coming from front left shock-ub.

if anyone faced the same problem then pls let me know what are the root causes of this problem.

they also said to me there is no need to change oil as my odo on 822km .

i chked my car carefully for ASS scratches but no ass scratches will be there.

i feel like i am 50% satisfied with there service because wen ist i went to showroom i recived

lot of Warm welcome from salesguyz but now situation has been changed only service manager is there for me with a mechnic . no Warm welcome no TEA/coffee offered by them only tap water.

so guyz this is the whole story pls comment if you like

what should be the tyre pressure for ritz ldi?as company mentioned 33 for front n 36 for rear..but genererally people say it should 30 for front n 33 for rear...

hi.my father owns a lancer 2001 model and the car has done 76000 kms.

i am facing problems in revving up the car.the car gives hiccups if i put 3th gear at 20 4th at 40 or so.after reaching around 2k rpm the car moves in ok.

also wen i try to pick my car at lower speed in higher gear the acceleration is really slow as compared when the car was 5k - 6k kms back.

please help me out.

Fuel indicator in i10

any idea apporx how much fuel is left in tank for i10(1.2).after..the indicator lamp glows...

how much kms..can be covered after 'low fuel indication'

also i10 is said to have 35lts capacity...but whenever i fill up the tank from E to F...it measures upto 22-24lts...(does i10 have around 10trs of reserve petrol??)

Today morning i saw a brand new petrol car (may be 2-3 days old) emitting lot of White Smoke.

Why does this happen to a new car? Its a Ritz Vxi.

Subject : opel corsa 1.4, 2000, 90000Km

Observation :

For the last 6 months, the subject has been displaying varied behaviour at the time of starting. If the fuel tank is filled half or one third it starts and runs as smooth as hot knife on butter.

However as the fuel level drops below one third, it takes 6-7 screeching attempts to start. During these 6-7 attempts you can possibly hear the fuel pumps whizzing sound. Also it moves-halts-moves-halts for some time and then runs properly. Subsequent starting within the next 3-4 hours is smooth.

This problem is accompanied with a severe drop in mileage to embarrasingly low levels!

Is this a Fuel pump problem?

Is there possible fuel leakage or inefficient burning due to fuel pump problem, what can be the reason for sudden drop in mileages (i'm afraid the mover and packer who shifted the subject recently had attempted to molest her)

Please advise.

Car Not driven for a Long time.

Hi Everyone,

I have a Getz GLE. It has clocked 28850 kms only. I'm leaving my home town and will be expected to return only after 11 months. The Car would be idle till then and will not be driven by anyone till i return.

Can i sell it and buy a new one after i return?

What steps should i take before leaving my home down?

I'm bit worried - That will it be of no use, if it has not been used for a Long time?

How to open & clear the spark plug

Hai to all,

Can anybody help me to open the spark plug of the car. I have wagon r & having problem of deposited of water or may be other thing on spark plug.

My car jerks on idle as well as on driving. On last service, service guy told me that there is some water deposited on sparkplug. Now again its starts jerking a lot.

Please help me to open the spark plug & how to clean them.

i10 viper issue

Hello Friends,

I am having trouble with the left viper of my i10. It does not work properly as it should. The front glass is not cleaned completely, my car is only 6 months old and i had indicated this issue to the hyundai service team during the first service itself. They are telling that its because the car is parked in the sun for a long time. I am in a dilemma of what next to do.. what is the cost of the viper set, also should i ask them to replace it free of cost?

After how many kilometers should the engine oil be changed?

I have a maruti 800 (old suzuki model; also called SS80). I use the car on a regular basis. The car has presently done 1600 kilometers. During the last service the engine oil filter and the engine oil was changed. Should I change the engine oil now ?? I get conflicting advise on this, one mechanic says the oil should be changed after 3000 KM, while the other says it should be done after 2000 KM. Kindly advise what is the recommended period ?? thanks a

hi guyz im back with some question . as the title says my 1st servicing is held on 16 nov. so i hav few doubts : what things they will change or adjust or repalce????? what will the charges if oil change is not required ???? what things i need to take care while in service center ?? as know my cluth plate issue so tell me how can make them fool???? i drove my car almost 900km .so what things need to adjust repalce or repaired??? i waiting for ur so kind suggestions. by the if some about my car my having swift petrol bright red.

Santro eRLX - minor scratches

Hello Friends,

My car is a July, 2006 model and did 17,600 km (don't use it much). Due to my non availability at home my parents used to hire drivers every time they go out. Till now almost 10 drivers have driven this car. This car has couple of scratches on the rear bumper side, few are little deep (lines but paint has gone in 2-3 places) and in few places kids have made scratches on the back side (above bumber) and side doors.

Obviously i can't go for a full paint but i heard that car technicians do patching (and scrubing) jobs on such sctraches. I would like to ask did anyone went for such a thing? If yes, is it safe to take such a risk? I mean is it possible to do such a job without any paint damage...please reply.

Winters precautions for first start in the Morning

Hi!

Winters has now commenced. My question is that when taking the car in the Morning, what should be the first step.

Should we start the car and immediately drive? will it not effect the engine.

The best is to keep the engine idle for quite some time till the temp is reached to a normal level so that the engine is not effected and oil reaches all parts.

If we will start the car immediately it will effect the engine and will put more pressure and FE will reduce.

Please comment.

Parking the car in sun

Hi,

My office does not have covered car park. People park on asphalted roads within the campus. Hence I have to park in the sun for 9 hrs a day, 5 days a week.

Is it harmful to the car/tyres. Will using a car cover help.

Also, are there any other issues in this.

P.S - I am in Chennai where it is extremely hot most of the days.

I see some smoke coming out of my a/c while driving in rain or in the night time(60 km / hr for 20kms) or in day time(80 km /hr for 10 kms).. There is no smell in it. Also the coolingis same from the a/c . Cooling infact seems to be a bit higher ....Is it normal? Mine is a carb model zen

My i10 is 10 months old. every time i have a look at my cars tyre i feel the tyre pressure is less. Even when i pump air into the tyres they looked bulged out as if it is losing air. The tyre pressure i maintain is 33. How can i know the right tyre pressure just by having a look.
