NH11-A road condition between Shahpura to Dausa?

I am planing to go for driving from Delhi to Ranthambore on 21st Nov with friends. I have planed to take following route :

a) Delhi to Shahpura till Manoharpur by NH8

b) Manoharpur (Shahpura) on NH8 to Dausa by NH11 A

c) Dausa to Ranthambore via Lalsot.

I tried to get information on road for NH11A and got the relavent information between Dausa to Lalsot. However, no information avaialble for Manoharpur to Dausa strech.

Do anyone have idea about this strech. I heard that this is very senic and therefore want take. Or should I take Jaipur to Dausa via NH11.

Please help.

Fiat Punto MJD Emotion Pack or Maruti Ritz Zxi

Hi all!

I am planning to buy a car within a week or two.

I am consfused between these two cars.

Fiat E+ attracts me due to amazing features and ride quality, but puts me off by thinking about ASS and resale.

Ritz Zxi has features to make normal driving just normal not exciting like the E+ but its got the backing of the Maruti Brand and MASS along with good resale down the years.

Im comparing petrol and diesel as my running is midway about 70km/day and Punto doesnt have good FE in petrol, so considered MJD. Whereas Ritz has good FE in petrol.

I hope i havnt been to haphazard and confusing in getting my point across!

Swift Lxi Vs Vxi....

I have almost taken decision to buy a maruti swift vxi but a local magazine(Chennai) stated that buying a lxi version and doing enhancements like central locking,power windows, from outside market would make the car vxi equivalent and also cost lesser than the price quoted by the company...

All that i want to know is whether such a enhancement worth it and does it affect the company services provided if any!!!

Dealer service is pathetic. I am regretting my decision to buy Honda City instead of SX4. I am worried about the ASS too after observing the showroom service.

Dear Sir,

I am looking for a new car and am willing to wait a bit if needed. The cars on my horison are:- Ford Fussion, Ford Fiesta, Ford Ikon, Swift Dezire, and Indigo Manza. Should i look into Punto and Lenia and Verna too?

Please advice on what is good for me as i would probably be retaining this new car for the coming 10 years or so.

My basic requirements are:-

Low maintenance cost,

high reliability,

good dealer network,

resale,

handling,

safety,

features.

Kindly advice.

Hard Clutch Pedals

For the same engine viz., FIAT quadrajet engine (Diesel) used in different cars like Swift, Grand Punto, Linea, Dzire, Indica Vista and Indigo Manza, I find that the clutch used by these car makers are very different. I find the Punto to be the softest. Next comes the Swift and Dzire. Both the TATA cars have very hard clutch pedals.

Hard pedals cause lot of strain on the driver's knees and feet, Why not TATA correct it, even when they bring out cars like the Manza?

Insurance claim for windshield (i10) cracked by stone hit

Hello Everyone,

God knows what is happening to my new car but in around 2 and a half months I have already suffered a lot.

It has got scratches, dents, AC is giving strange smell and now today someone has hit it with a stone and has made a spider legs looking crack in its windshield. Its size is around 2-3 inches in diameter. I am blaming it to some person as this has happened while my car was parked. In fact every single problem has happened to my parked car only. Not even a single problem was my mistake.

Well I enquired about this with the insurance company, and they may provide the claim. They are saying that 100% claim will be given in case of my glass. But as I asked my hyundai engineer about this, he told me that glass will be covered in insurance but plastic parts like Sealing Kit, Dam and Moulding (m not sure about the names) u will have to buy.

Is it possible that for this, old parts are used. Moulding I guess can be used again. Also the insurance executive said that it depends on the workshop you are going to. Whether they use the old parts or they dont.

Can you guys help me in this and give me some good suggestions for the whole procedure like you have always given.

Chrysler & Dodge cars to be sold badged as Lancia and Fiat in Europe

The Chrysler - Fiat deal seems to be disclosing it's future plans.

- Chrysler brand will make it's exit from Europe by 2011 and most Chrysler's and Dodge's will make their way badged as Lancia's and Fiat's.

This Lanica Phedra will be replaced by the Chrysler Voyager.

The gorgeous Lancia Thesis below will be replaced by the next generation 300C. Now, I am a big fan of the 300C but why Fiat. Why? Just look at the Thesis!

Dodge Journey will replace the Fiat Ulyesse and the Fiat Croma (pictured below) will be replaced with a new Dodge mid-size sedan. The next generation Neon? Oh God no!

Lastly, the Fiat Sedici (also sold by Suzuki as the SX4) will be replaced by the Dodge Nitro.

Of course, the deal is reciprocal so Lancia, it seems will compliment Chrysler in North America. So while it seems like American roads are set to turn more beautiful with the onset of Lancia, European roads will get uglier with Lanica's getting replaced with Chrysler's.

I have great regard and respect for Sergio Marchionne but I really hope Fiat is not on a suicidal path with these plans!

Performance issue with new Indigo CS TDI

Hi Friedns,

Recently my cousin brought Indigo CD LX TDI. Till now covered 1400kms with first service.

While driving by me & cousin, I felt that driving a indica (non turbo). I mean no turbo kick even after 2k rpm. I have observed this in city driving. in 3rd gear also crossing 2.2k rmp doesn't feel any kick, still feels sluggish.

Tubeless tyres for MATIZ..Possible ?

Hi..

I am going to buy matiz & I want to replace all tubed tyres with alloy as I read it's not advisable to use tubeless tyres with steel rims.

But, is it possible to remove still rims & just use tubeless tyres ?.. If it is, then I won't have to spend too much on alloy.

What will be approximate cost for tubeless tyres (Single) and that of alloy ?

hyundai i 10 wiper/washer

dear friendz,

i bring a strange thing to your notice. i purchased hyundai i 10 magna (kappa)a month ago. if the wiper lever is pressed towards the driver the washer is sprinkled on the front glass, but the wiper doesnt operate. as per the manual pressing the wiper lever spills the washer fluid and wiper should operate 1-3 times simultaneously, which actaually is seen in any basic cars also. On contacting the showroom service i was told that feature is not in magna but in next version.

very bad with hyundai for not providing sucha a basic feature, without which simply spilling the washer fluid is useless.

Price diff bet basic model & 2nd model is 1 lac and basic and top model is 3 lac.

In 2nd model only climate control double AC is extra, is it worth 1 lac extra money?

in Top model abs, airbags, Mp3, foglamps etc are given are they worth 3 lac of extra money.

It will be driven by my driver and not any of family member. so luxury in driving seat like music control buttons on steering etc (Innova top model) not usefull.

Porsche baby cayenne

Auto Bild is reporting that Porsche is developing a brand new Crossover which will slot below the Cayenne and fight the best from BMW and Mercedes. The new Crossover will be based on Audi Q5 platform(Audi also falls under Volkswagen umbrella and so is Porsche now!) either the current one, or the derivative of the successor depending now quickly Porsche wants to introduce it into the market.

The German magazine has also published a few renderings of the new Crossover from Porsche and if rendering are anything to go by, it looks very muscular, mean and aggressive. The new Crossover will come V6 petrol and diesel engines from Audi - 3.0 V6 TFSI with 300 bhp, 3.0 V6 TDI with 250 or even 300 bhp and a 3.0 Litre V6 Hybrid TSI with 350 bhp. Porsche might also thrown in a V8 with 400 to 500 bhp or even an S model with 575 bhp to take the fight to AMG’s and the M division!
