Driven by robust exports from Hyundai India (exports greater than domestic sales) and Maruti Suzuki, India's car exports for this year have overtaken those from China.  Analysts feel this is an indication that the "Made in India" tag is gaining acceptance worldwide at least as far as automobiles are concerned.

The predictions are that India will soon overtake both Thailand and Korea as export hubs and will attract more manufacturers to base their export hubs in this country.  Read more here:

While not really a cause to celebrate because these numbers are majorly driven by Hyundai and now supported by Suzuki, it is hoped that this will cause more manufacturers to shift operations here and only such a move will make this a sustainable advantage for India.

Even Indian manufacturers like Mahindra and mahindra are contributing to the total exports noe that Mahindra pick-ups are going to be launched in US. The exports numbers are driven by foreign manufacturers but Indian manufacturers are slowly but surely coming up.

Well you are right about "Made In India" Tag. Not only in auto field...this tag has gained popularity in terms of IT, entertainment, business, education and what not. Whereas "Made in China" is still concidered inferior and cheap quality.

Hi

India is fast progressing toward the small car hub and a country with all major brands and production plants.
