Yes, diesel is second best cheapest.  Regarding performance, briefly speaking, diesel cars are generally better than their petrol counter-parts. As we know, CNG/LPG are retrofitted on Petrol cars.  Performance of such retrofitted cars, howsoever good, will not match with that of Petrol.

Hi friends Merry Christmas

My Vista QDJ-Aura completed 5100Km in 4 months. Recently I gave her 2nd service. No serious issues though I have following issues. Please suggest your views

1) I changed engine oil at 5100Km. In future also I would be changing it at an interval of 7-8K

2) The head ligth low beam seems to be under powered, also the leveling not suits to my comfort, I am always overcautious during night driving due to this issue mainly. Are other Vista owners satisfied with lights?

3) The light stalk switch has the head lamp leveler, this feature is not working properly. Many times (Even during high beam flashes  the low beam gets stuck to the lower most position -position 3). I pointed out this issue to ASS during service. As per them the "Combi Switch is faulty and need to be replaced" but no spares available, so whenever it comes it will be replaced. In the mean time I am forced to drive at High Beam

4) Milage is very good, milage is consitent to 17-18kmpl (without AC, normal city driving in 4th gear mostly)

5) There are some minor scratches on body paint. The ASS suggested to do Taflon coating. But I am not sure that will remove the scratches. Plz suggest how to remove it in budget cost

6) Want to purchase a Tyre pressure gauge. Diffrent puncture shops have different gauges it is hard to standardize correct tyre pressure, plz suggest brand, price etc.

7) Car is becoming smoother and there is significant change in gear shift as compared to earlier new & hard gears

8) My car mostly runs empty (Single occupant) due to daily office commuting. So whenever I have full passangers, I notice sluggishness in pick up. Feel that it is due to habit of driving single. What are experts opinions??

5. taflon coating will neither remove old scratches nor will it restrict new scratches. It is just a thincoat, and avoid very very very minor scratches.

8.  Yes it is due to habit. I observed the same for me. when single, I pick-up the car at 2nd. when fully loaded, have to use 1st gear.

1) fair enough-this being mineral oil that is being changed

4)17-18kmpl is possible with AC(100%)-what air pressures are you running?

5)get a good polish and a rubbing compound-waxpol does the job for me.

6)avoid the analogue ones, digital is the way forward-sadly choice for the same are few and far between-ebay would be a good place to search.

8)all cars for that matter perform less with added weight(ie more passengers).

Here is my story:

Completed 1 year and 9000 on 20th Dec with my QJT-Aqua. Completed 3rd servicing also.

Overall FE: only city trafffic (I am not sure you can call traffic in Hyderabad as city traffic - it is more villagish!!) is 14kmpl with AC on 100% of time.  FE looks less than other postings but if location (Hyderabad) is factored in, I guess this is ok!

In general I am a happy owner. It is very comfortable car - good seating, AC, good suspension, quite silent, etc. Body noises is the only irritation I have.

Normally my driver handles the car but whenever I decided to brave the Hyderabad traffic and test my skills, I felt a bit diffident  - perhaps this car is not meant for a beginner!. My previous driving experiences were with MS800 and Santro both of which I had felt very confident driving.

Issues over the year:

- Power steering stopped working once but when I called the helpline, they came within a couple of hours and took the car. It was rectified under warranty (pump replacement).

- Buzzing noise from hi-mounted breaklight. Rectified during 1st servicing itself.

- after second servicing significant rattling noice from right rear door. Rectified 90% during 3rd servicing. Still a bit of rattling exisits that would not go away.

Some issues with accessories :

- Audio display disapperared after second servicing (Blaupunct Kingston). Rectified under warranty with blaupunckt servicing centre. Apparently this is a common phenomenon (display going blank due to water seepage during water washing) with blaupunckt.

- Remote lock (AutoCop) alarm would go off frequently and it was nuisance as some times it happens in the middle of night and I had to face irritated neighbours. Finally it turned out to be a really bad quality wire whose insulation got eroded (in less than 6 months!?!) and was earthing. Concorde technician rectified this with a piece of tape.

Response of Concorde to resolve the issues was good.

Hi all

I have posted above the Head light issues in my Vista. Is there any comment/suggestions?

@Binoy

I try to maintain 33-35PSI in front and 30-32PSI in rear tyres. Don't know whether this is accurate?

Milage Once observed 19+ on highway run with 100% AC. But in general commuting it is 16 with AC. May be tyre pressure is issue?

@amrut and @binoy:

yeah, tyre pressure does make difference. I have a friend who keeps checking the pressure twice a week, to get a better FE.

Though I cant comment on the figures with and without air pressure, but the car runs really smooth (hence less load on engine-fuel-story_follows) when with appropriate pressure.

2) I have replaced my High beam bulbs with Osram njght breakers of the same wattage. I couldnt increase the wattage as the wiring harness for Vista is not yet available , and I didnt want the wiring to be spliced. Regarding low beam usage, I think the brightness of the bulbs are working for me.

Edit Remark: Please do not use bold format (since converted to normal)

Thanks Anil

I think the main issue is head lamp leveling. I was not satisifed about low beam level from the day one . And now there is problem in head lamp leveler so both the beam go down and stuck there. As I have written before, I am forced to drive on high beam only and that is also not throwing light for more than 50-60 feet. In such condition. I can drive at 50-60kmph max, and also bothered to avoid night driving.

I am doing regular follow up of ASS and TML on this issue and hope they rectify/replace ASAP

amrut other members have not reported of poor headlamp throw, so yours seems to be a one off problem.

Getting the levelers replaced would be the ideal thing to do.

34PSI all around would be quite ok i guess for minimal load travel. Experiment a bit with the pressures and soon you will find a setting that will suit you most.
