Hi friends

I got milage of 16+, This includes my/ours novice driving style. 50% AC and around 250Km highway drive. In all car consumed 56 litre diesel for 925Km. I hope the FE would improve after first service and also as my driving improves. I am really impressed with FE performance.

Hi friends

I have clocked 1300Km on my new Vista QDJ, I will be taking her to first service this Monday (21-09-2009). Experts please share your views in regards of First service. Following are my observations kindly do share your views

1) I am getting FE around 17kmpl around 50% AC and 50% highway running

2) There are minor rattling sounds from both of front doors (only when going over rough roads), I am not sure whether it is rattling OR suspension noise.

3) Whenever I pass big bumps there is moderate THUDD from rear. (No chassis scraping, it is a sound only)

4) Minor AC blower sqeaking sound

5) Car is slightly pulling towards left (dont know whether this is due to road incline OR aligmnment issue) because it is not always, it is some times

6) Gear shifts are becoming smoother compared to earlier

7) I checked the engine oil level, it is up to max, but I wonder there is absolutely No colour change in engine oil. It is almost the same colour as earlier.

8) Power steering oil level is lowered by 8-10mm, is it normal??

9) Left front tyre pressure seems to be less than right tyre (visual impression), however checked twice at two different puncture shops and they said that pressure is same in both tyres that is 32psi in both tyres.

So need your expert comments on above issues.

Thanks

Dear Binoy

The Sqeaking sound is coming from left front corner, which I can judge while sitting in drivers seat. It is only when blower is On and AC On. The sound is moderate. It can be noticed in blower speed 2 OR less.

And yes I do love my car. Its my dream car and I waited so long till the dream came true. Even for my 5 year old bike, I have same love and attention. Every week I pay atleast 30 min. to check every thing is OK and in good shape. I will definately take due care for this new vehicle which arrived in my family. Thanks for complements.

3) Whenever I pass big bumps there is moderate THUDD from rear. (No chassis scraping, it is a sound only)

Earlier I came across the same problem when the car was new. After 1st service the sound got stopped automatically.

Check whether the boot door and parcel tray are intact.

4) Minor AC blower sqeaking sound

The same squeaking noise is coming from the AC blower in lower speeds in my Aqua QJD for the past few days. I checked the problem with the TASC people today. I was told that the noise is from the AC thermistor. It seems like there is some adjustment (something like 7points, 8points) in thermistor and once done there will no noise.

When the sound starts I used to switch off the blower and restart it again. The noise goes off! Try this method Amrut, it works.

Hi friends

My car got serviced on 21-09-09. This was the first service after 1325Km running. ASS have done most jobs to my satisfaction. Following issues were reported by me and solved by them. The invoice charged was for 0 rupees.

1) Rattling sound:- Solved, they said this was from suspension which was checked and adjusted

2) Front wind shield liner loose: Solved and assured that if problem arise again then they will replace liner.

3) Thudd sound from rear (on speed breaker only): Was due to rear suspension, now sound is supressed to my satisfaction.

4) Front left door arm rest loose:- Pending as the dentor was not available (I guess the mechanic) So they have requested to come next week and assured to resolve the issue. Some other issue like seat base plastic were fixed properly.

5) Car pulling to left:- Initially, the service engineer was reluctant to accept the issue. But after a proper discussion and TD along with him, he got convinced to check aligment. So alignment checked and adjusted. I feel that the problem is now solved.

6) I asked about engine oil top up but they said there is no need. Experts please guide on this as I remember I have learnt in a thread some where, that during first service they add some special oil to top up. No top up was done.

In all the car has become more smoother after first service ( which I could feel). The interior and exterior washing was also  very good. And co-ordination from ASS was satisfactory. Present FE is 17kmpl. Which they assured "will improve further".

I wish to fix good quality sun films during Diwali. Experts please suggest good quality brands, budget 3-4k.

Thanks

Nice to hear that you have had a good experience, and the issues have been resolved.

Wheel Alignment (& balancing) aren't covered in free service - it's payable.  Good that you were not charged for it.

Top-up is done only if required.

Mileage of 17 is good - City.  It generally returns 16-18.  On highway you would get 20-22.

For Sun-films (& accessories), please start a new thread in the relevant section - here's a link to do that.  It will be noticed & responded well.

Hi friends

Had taken my vista QDJ for a long trip in Diwali vacations. Trip was approx 1300Km to return. This car is superb highway cruiser. The car was loaded to full capacity (5 adults+2 children+full of luggage in boot). Even though there was no power lagging on streight roads. Mostly  cruised @80-100Kmph (once tried for 120 on expressway, and felt it can even go further) Following are my observations, where experts opinion requested.

1) Fully loaded car is prone to bang on bigger speed breakers, once I realized then crossed those big bumps very carefully.

2) On steep hills I had to maintain sufficient momentom to reach on top, many times had to shift to 2nd OR 1st (may be due to overloading)

3) Trip was planned for day time driving only, hence cannot judge about night driving and head lamp performance. I feel low beam is underpowered. (will front wind shield help to reduce glare??

4) AC was comfortable on highways (as weather was moderate) , but in high summers It may feel unsatisfactory. I feel it is necessary to go for sunfilms.

5) Tubeless tyres are amazing thing:- they were just warm even after 100Km continuos drive at 80-100.

6) Even after full loading, Nobody felt cramped, however myself as a single driver felt reasonable knee pain in right foot. And I wonder how those long trip drivers manage this issue. Do I have to change my driving style?? / Position?

7) Suspension is also amazing thing in vista, there is absolutely no harshness No bangs

8) Driving in difficult ghat bothered me intitally, but I gained confidence and now can drive in more challanging roads.

9) FE:- Overall FE for 1300Km was 18+. I was expecting more but about 400Km was in traffic . On highways It would have given around 20

In all I am really proud for my correct decision in selecting Vista QDJ as my familiy car, I am very much satisfied

1 & 2) Quite natural (any car).

4) Yes, sunfilms help to some extent.

6) Long distance driving - single driver - is tiring (any car).  Those who drive often, feel less tiring (are used to it).

7) Mileage derived is very good/decent - given the load (5 with luggage) & driving conditions (ghat, traffic).  In normal driving conditions & style, Vista QJD normally returns 20-22 on highway (& 16-18 in city).

Nice review. Thanks for sharing your experience.
