Hi all

Yesterday I had gone for a little long drive on highway, around 120Km of round trip. This car is superb highway cruiser. Due to running-in, I maintained speed of 70-80Kmph in 5th gear. It has great pick up with AC on and 5 persons onboard. At this speed there was very low noise inside. I only noticed wind noise when windows rolled down. In some cases turbo lag was felt as I wanted to accelerate from 50Kmph in 5th gear on moderate uphill. At intial 2-3 seconds the response is not felt hoever after that, car zooms ahead and I have to ease on accelator to maintain speed. Is it normal??

Also I noticed that at 70-80Km the car was pulling slightly towards left side when steering wheel free from hands, I also noticed that I was able to counter maintain that left drag just holding by one fingure. Carwale experts please suggest is there any issue of alignment OR is it normal ??

On some tarmac surfaces there was loud noise from tyres. At once I slowed down to see anything wrong. But noticed that it is dependant on road surface. Please suggest is it Normal??

Request expert drivers to help with usefull tips especially for city driving, gear ratios etc. I some times find it difficult to drive in 2nd gear due to revving up and As I shift to 3rd there is some shudder from engine (speed 20-30) so plese suggest usefull tricks, I am still a novice driver and becomes tense in driving through tight spots

@ Amrut

It seems problem with front wheel alignment. So get it fix at TASC ASAP.

And have a safe motoringSmile

It takes less time to do things right than to explain why you did it wrong.

Yes this is normal.

About the pull to left -do the test on a level straight road and then see if the pull still exists.

Colour is a personal choice. Generaly silver colours/shades are easy to maintain, White looks decent but difficult to maintain. More the darker colour, the more problem of heating inside the cabin (mainly during parking in sun). I suggest you Marine Silver. it looks stunning.

In my case I wanted some thing different from Silver/White and not wanted to go for Black/Grey OR Gala Red so selected Solar Orange. In fact I had also short listed only two colours- Marine Silver & Solar Orange. Finally decided on Orange (family member's opinion)

Any way its your choice

@Ganesh Rao M

BTW, you will definately get complements from friends/neighbours about colour if you select Solar Orange. I am experencing it almost every body will say colour is very good.

Amrut, does your vehicle have a tacho? If yes, its so easy - when the vehicle reaches 2k rpm, shift to the next gear. While coming down, when your vehicle reaches 1200 rpm shift to lower gear. (this may vary, depending on vehicle, but that's about the range.)

This will ensure you drive with correct gear ratios, good for FE as well as responsiveness of engine to your needs.

If no tacho, stick to  speed /10 = gear. Tune as per your engines quirks.

Hi Amrut...Generally the roads in india are a little left inclined. That is higher on right and lower in left, due to this the car tends to go left a bit and this is normal. Just like you I was also worried when I first drove my Wagon R on highway but on testing on a leveled surface I found all was well. This was also confirmed during my first servicing.

@Amit

Yes I have also noticed it for the second time, It was pulling some times not always. May be due to road incline. Any way I will discuss the matter with Service guys and will take their opinion during first service
