thanks Binoy, that's comforting, hope they launch. 20-25 is steep though. 17-18 will make it a hit beyond BMW's wildest imaginations.

Nissan has got it all wrong here...

Pricing is not as expected. Space is not a thing to boast in this hatch. Engine does not set any benchmark for the price it comes for.

Overall it has a very girly look.

After some initial months, unless nissan sales department comes up with some special and lucrative offer it would be difficult for them to sell.

Surprised -- I can't imagine that the model i saw (with power windows + power steating + Music system) did not have internally adjustable side mirrors...  Laughing

Nissan is preparing to launch its small car model March in India. The new model will be manufactured at its Chennai plant from next year. The car is sold as Nissan Micra outside Japan and is expected to be christened as Micra in India as well. The production for the same will commence in March 2010.

Nissan intends to launch the next generation model of Micra in March next year which will be available internationally, two months before the Indian launch. Nissan also intends to shift its production base out of Japan and as per the latest ongoing plans, Micra for Japanese Domestic market will be manufactured in Thailand and for the rest of Asia the manufacturing base will be China and India.

Nissan recently launched ‘Leaf’ as its zero emission and eco-friendly car in Japan. It is the latest environment friendly car that does not even have a tail pipe! It is the first electric car that has a seating capacity of 4-5 people and can be aptly termed as a completely commercial passenger car.

convertibles are not India thing ( Even sun roofs are not that popular) and even if Nissan provides this feature, then it would come with a heavy price tag.

Not all Micras are convertibles. There are either versions available abroad.

Why break rules when following them is much easier!!!

hi, thanks for information ......that nissan launch in india

According to the company, Nissan’s automobiles will be made from its Rs 4,500-crore Chennai plant, which has been set up as a joint venture with Renault.

The first vehicle, the Nisan Micra hatchback, is expected to hit India dealerships by 2010.

The Nissan Micra is expected to be launched in both petrol and diesel versions.

“Our plans are on track and our first car will be the Micra hatchback. The Micra is known as March in Japan and the Indian version will be christened either Micra or March,” Nissan Motor India’s Managing Director and CEO, Kiminobu Tokuyama said.

hey thanks for the info i think its a great car however i think the pricing is a bit on the higher side. i had a chance to talk to my local dealer here upon asking the possibility of loosing the fancy key for the top end model what is the alternative all he replied was "more money for me" not exactly a warm and assuring answer LOL.. however its a gr8 car with poor pricing once the initial buzz is gone for this car m sure nissan will have to rework the pricing for this very small over priced great car
