I want to install Xenos remote lock from Xenos authorized service dealer. While I was going through my car's user manual I noticed this clause : " The warranty shall not apply to - any vehicle on which parts or accessories not approved by Maruti Suzuki have been used"

In that sense anything apart from Maruti product will void warranty including car stereo! So can I go ahead with the Xenos security system or will it void?

Yes warranty would be voided.

But then there are general understanding about such fitment by the dealers. Ensure proper fitment with connectors and then you should be fine.

ok soon my 2yr warranty will expire. What if I install the xenos security system and then apply for extended warranty?

In that case also, due to the external fitment dealers have an excuse of not providing you the warranty. Better ensure, as Binoy said, that the fiment s proper and is done with proper connectors to avoid hassels.

@Adam, i think you have to extend the warranty before it expires.

BTW it's mentioned 'approved by Maruti suzuki'. I guess these autocop, Xenos etc are already approved by Maruti. But please confirm it. I dont think it's a big issue with that clause.

I do remember the one liner of amaron battery - "coming with 1 year useless waranty". 90% cases these warranty are useless with quality products
