Toyota recalls 6.8 lakh sedans in China(Camry, Corolla, Yaris and Vios)

Beijing: Japan’s Toyota Motor Corp on Monday announced its biggest ever recall in China, involving 688,314 sedans citing a defect in the electric window system. 
    The affected sedan models are Camry, Corolla, Yaris and Vios manufactured in China by local joint venture firms with Toyota from May 2006 to the end of 2008. Some owners of Toyota cars in question reported problems when opening and closing window on the driver’s side. PTI

Appreciate Toyota recalling so many vehicles on "some users reporting problems when using driver side power windows"...

If Indian mfrs were that conscientious, they would probably have to recall more vehicles than the would have sold overall... Laughing

I had decided some time ago that my next vehicle would be a Toyota (I was thinking of Camry or Prius, which would have debuted in India by the time I recover from my current loan), but news like this does not help holding fast to that resolution...Maybe Honda still has a chance, it should think of stopping gauging customers and introducing Insight hybrid quickly (not very quickly, though... see above!)

Toyota showed their comitment towards costumers but recalling so many vehicles,and if some thing is wrong with indian cars,why will they differenciate in two countries. 

Even Honda is not untouched, Remember Honda also recalled civics(i don't remmber the number)from U.S. and some more markets abroad,because of some power steering defect in some vehicles,may be i guess 1 year back.

For that matter all consumer goods companies do go through recalls, more so the electronic and automotive industry.
