Maruti is planning to enter into D segment with Kizashi which will compete with Honda, Skoda and Toyota. Kizashi, Suzuki’s first big car developed in-house, will be introduced in India in the 2010 Auto Expo. The car will be powered by a 2.4-litre Euro IV engine developed by Suzuki. A six-speed manual transmission will be standard in the car, while the automatic one-based on continuously variable transmission (CVT) technology will be optional and will have paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel (like those in Honda City and Toyota Corolla Altis). It is expected to be the first-all-wheel-drive luxury car in India in the Rs 10-13 lakh price bracket.
