from what I gather the Ignis is a top end varient of the Vista lineup, the one with all safety features, fully loaded. unlike other manufactures tata has different names for each varient. so comes with ABS + EBD + dual airbags + steering mounted controls and tentetively the petrol version is powered by the Fiat 1.4 litr saffire motor. price hike expected is about 50k off the existing top line.

All we know is that it has a 1.4 litre Petrol motor - why do we assume that its a Fiat engine?  Remember the Indigo Grande which had (has?) a 1.4 litre 100 bhp engine - couldnt it be that engine slightly detuned for the Indica rather than the Linea engine in a higher state of tune for a lesser car?

But the information which we got from other sites - Read:zigwheels - it would be a fiat safire engine.

IGNIS will have 1.4 saffire engine – same as in Fiat Grande Punto.

Honesty is not a Spare Wheel that you pull out when in trouble. It's a Steering Wheel that keeps you on the right path throughout the life's journey.

Following up on the above post, why would TATA launch Ignis in SA and not in India? Is it an indication that Ignis is for-export only? sigh, no ignis for India then.

why does my post with the link to SA launch website get removed ? X(
