Hyundai Accent Fog lamps

I am planning to get fog lamps fit on my Accent. The dealer is asking rs.4K approx for fog lamps+wiring+switch. From outside I m getting it for less than rs.700.

But I was sceptical if the wiring work they would do would result in laps of the warranty.

Also would this be fine if i get the switch and wiring done from dealer and later fit the lamps from outside? Also will I get the same switch like the defoger switch on the dashboard or is it different from that?

Im planning to replace the fog lamp's bulb with the very bright lights (white bluish in colour). Can anybody tell me the specifications or the rating etc. I have no idea.

Please advice me in detail.

Warranty might be an issue.

Hybrid solution of having the wiring done by the dealer and getting the lamps from outside would be great-but will the dealer agree.

Decide on the type of fog first then we can consider a bulb upgrade.

Thanks a lot Benoy.

I spoke to one of the Hyundai dealer [in Delhi region] and he refused to do just the wiring part. And he confirmed that I could get it done from outside, there wont be any problem with warranty [normally Honda does have this issue].

And for switch I spoke to one of the local shops and he said he has the switch and it would cost rs.150. Only thing that stopped me was wiring and labour from local place.

Are there many types of fog lamps? I thought for a model only one type of fogs are there. Please advice.

Hi Everybody,

For all those who want to fit foglamps in Accent here is a tip. A good news is that Accent comes with wiring done. Just u need is a switch, fuse and relays.

Buy the fog lamps from local shop (rs.650 approx) and ask them to fit it for u (remember no wiring stuff, switch etc). Now you visit any showroom and ask them to fit the switch (rs.700). They would fit the switch, fuse and relay (rs. 600 approx).

There might be chances the showroom guys might refuse to put just switch, here use ur tactics. ;-) Please dont fit the switch that comes in local market. They really sucks and they cannot be fit with the company dont wiring.

Hope it helps.

Regards,

Piyush.

Hi Piyush,

My hyundai accent has wiring already but the only thing i am missing is the relay that goes in the fuse box,  hyundai dealers are not being helpful as i dont have a part number,  i have tried other relays and fog lighs stay on permanent, does a specific relay do the job only, wondered if you had same problem

Hi Guys, I own a Hyundai Accent executive model purchased just one year back.

The Problem i am facing is that while installing the fog lamps from outside not from the showroom.

I got the Switch from outside and the Lumax Headlamps from Outside.

I was not able to get the wiring done has hyundai has given the wiring for the switch but not for the fog Lamps and no Doubt that there is no Relay and Fuse as well for the same Kindly Guide me where I can get these things done in South Delhi.
