I am planning to sell a car registered at Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh in the name of wife who passed away recently.

I have a permanent address of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh and Present address as of Chandigarh. I wish to sell my car at my present location i.e. Chandigarh.

Any details on the procedure of selling of the car as mentioned above is highly appreciated.

You will first need to get the car transferred in your name (Bareilly RTO) - based on the death certificate of your wife.

You can sell your car - anywhere - even in other city/state. Resale will be affected if it needs to be re-registered by the buyer (another state), as it would involve paying life-time taxes afresh.
