Indica Vista beats Maruti Swift and Ritz diesel models in its category. “What Car” Magazine by Hormzad Sorabjee has rated Vista as “India’s Number One Diesel Car”. The new Indica Vista gets another feather beating Maruti Swift, Fiat Punto and Maruti Ritz diesel models in the comparison conducted in July this year.

Tata Indica Vista

The magazine has placed Vista on top in five out of nine parameters. It has rated Vista with 5 stars for space and practicality and 4 stars for performance, refinement, buying and owning experience and driver seating. “Vista is the biggest here and has clear edge over the rivals. The seats are supremely comfortable and you even get lumbar adjust along with height adjust for front seats. The Vista is the most driveable of the lot, thanks to smart set of gear ratios that responds better,” stated the article from ‘What Car’ magazine. It also stated that the car offers good level of refinement and the suspension works quietly. It also has the best refinement in the group.

Tata Motors has launched a promotion in which interested buyers can take a testdrive and get Rs 1000 in case they decide not to buy the car. They are also able to win a Tata Motors Car!

This car does tend to be a show stealer, especially to car owners who use cramped cars and are looking to change their cars soon...me, for instance. i find Esteem a very cramped car , and when i consider buying a new car, passenger space is a critical parameter.

Thanks Centaur for sharing that info.  It's a VFM car for its pricing/package, space/comfort & performance.  It offers better stability & road-grip.

Yes, its a winner for all the reasons stated in the article and for sheer performance vis-a-vis value for money.

It looks like among all its distant cousine (Swift Diesel, Punto, Ritz Diesel : All having same engine), Vista Quadrajet has an edge in VFM. But whether same thing is true for Saffire Model? No Car magazine gives any review comment on its Saffire model.

It's more of a VFM (pricing/package). Performance is very decent.

The vista has surely deserved the credit its has been due, the service network is improving and slowly the resale on the Tata cars should also improve.

On a side note, Autocar always used to give more preference to cars that were fun to drive and powerful, i guess the changing times have also made them change their priorities!

Thank you Centaur, for competitive news about Vista.  Vista is a very competitive family car in the segment and is an excellent VFM.  But its sales are marred by Indica's past image and its initial hiccups, which are being rectified.  That is why it could not join main stream, so far. But market dynamic is changing fast.  BTW, Vista uses Fiat engine and transmission in both QJD and Safire, under Tata-Fiat deal.

Thanks All. Actually people still relate the word "indica" to the word "cab". I hope the vista would change this particular outlook people have towards Indica
