Security system/s to prevent theft of Car

from our area 2 cars have been stolen what prequations should i take so that this doesnt happen to me as i am going to buy a new car very soon my mother is very tensed due to this please help

Central/Remote Locking System (with burglar alarm) is most popular.  Besides, you can also go for Gear Lock. 

If your car has Immobilizer, it will prevent the engine from running unless the correct key is inserted/used.
