Yea!! Agreed with the road presence. I wonder why that long a waiting period. I mean, its not that they have sold too many, because according to official reports Fiat has managed to sell around 2172 cars in the month of August'09. Taking out the Linea which approximately might have sold around 850-900 units, 1272 should be Puntos. This is no great number in comparison to a Maruti.

Is the problem with the RTO then?

I don't think it's a RTO Problem. It was long been sorted out.

Probably the fortunate ones, who has got their Punto are so passionate about their love, they are still admiring the beauty by hiding it somewhere.Cool

Ok,
finally got a chance to have a backseat ride in a Punto (Emotion) in Mumbai.
First impressions:

Exterior: Clean, simple, no-nonsense yet a modern design. Typically Fiat.
Liked the headlamp design, the tail lamps appear to be mounted on the C pillar, could have been bette.

Ingress/Egress: Convenient, elderly people might find it a tad difficult still.

The interior appears spacious, and the rear seat was comfortable.Leg room is enough for most people, but tall (6ft+) will complain.

3 adults on the rear bench can sit without feeling 'packed together', at least for city rides.

Other things:

- The orange backlit display is easy on the eyes than red
- The first time I looked at the console, i saw too many gauges. (maybe i'm used to more simple, old ones )
- The font size for the display console is quite huge, even the rear passengers can read it easily.
- The ride was smooth, but tyre noise did penetrate into the cabin at speeds of 50+ (maybe its due to Goodyear)
- If it hit a pothole, there was a 'thud' noise, somewhat muted

Hi

At last i saw one punto parked on the road.

But i saw qite a few for service in the workshop.

I think Fiat repair work to its image has been progressive the sales are the proof

Fiat Grande Punto

May : 191

June : 1501

July : 1784

August : 1819

Not bad at all.

Fiat Linea

May : 901

June : 911

July : 850

August : 952

Linea customers are moving towars Punto.

Fiat Palio

May : 80

June : 60

July : 50

August : 11

I think Palio is taking a hit due to Punto

I think the Fiat Punto owners are hiding them so that no one could steal them Innocentor keep drooling on the carTongue out.

Well the point about Palio is that its a very old car in the market. Fiat will have to rework the interiors and reduce cost drastically to improve Palio sales.

Cheers,
Naveen

I saw five Puntos in a row in Vashi the other day. I had nothing to do that day and was out driving in the town. Saw two red and one blue in Sector 17 while the other two were a red and greyish-blue in my office parking.

@Bharadwaj,

Punto is not eating into Palio's sales because Palio is not selling anyway!
