usually in Indian market, the sedan version of the hatch back model will be priced about one lakh rupees more than the hatch back version,examples,dezire-swift,indigo-indica,earlier sienna-palio,

but currently the price difference between punto and linea, which are based on the same platform and share parts is more than 2 lakh rupees!,the base active version of punto D priced around 4.8 lakhs and the active version of linea around 7.1 lakhs, how is this possible??2 lakhs rs extra for a BOOT?????

I thin it is unfair to compare like that. Linea is a lot bigger car than DZire or Indigo. Hence in terms of space it offers a lot more. Also, it has a lot more features than a palio.

no,i compared the linea with its hatch back version punto not the palio,i own a linea and the only differences i noticed in punto are,the single barreled head light in punto where as its two in linea, the diesel engine is mjd producing more bhp in linea when compared to punto, longer wheel base in linea, space, comforts inside are almost the same, still why 2 lakh rs extra???

Yes, price the difference between Punto 1.3 Active and Linea 1.3 MJD is more than 2 lakh. However as Krishnan is pointed out, its a unfair comparision.

Linea 1.3 MJD offers lot more addtional features over Punto 1.3 Active -- It much more than boot space.  This is not the case in Swift and Swift desire.

Have look at this comparision

The Indigo/indica,Swift/Dzire analogy cannot be applied to the Punto and Linea and in the former the two versions share much more than platforms-like body panels/doors/roof dashboard etc.

The linea shares the same platform(ie the chassis) but everything else is different and hence the price difference.

yes, true,i always thought that both linea and punto are priced cheaper by atleast a lakh rs,but...

didnt fiat did away with mc phershon stut suspenion to cust cost?

had a hydraulic stearing stearing in the place of electronic stearing as a cost cutting measure,

but luckily, bot have turned to be advandageous, the suspenion is simply amazing, giving one a feel of a travel in an airlines and the stearing is an inviting one with precise and involving feed back, iam glad fiat made these two changes in difference to the other cars in the market, even though may be for cost cutting measures
