Hi Guys,

Yesterday i went to a Hyundai showroom in my city to have a look at i10. I saw a new variant/trim of i10 1.2 named Magna Plus. The extra features as compared to Magna are

1. Front fog lamps

2. Rear wiper

3. Kenwood HU with speakers

4. Dual tone art leather seat covers

5. Roof rails

6. Body graphics

It is priced 45K more than the Magna. On enquiring, the salesperson told that the variant has been launched recently, but the HU was not as well integrated in the dash as the one in Sportz. Looked like an aftermarket fitting.

So the prices of Magna, Sportz and Magna plus are as below (ex-showroom Kolkata)

Magna - 396181

Sportz - 423181

Magna Plus - 441181

Have not heard about this Magna Plus in any ads or anywhere else. Does anyone else know about it. Feel free to give your inputs on this new variant ( whether VFM or not).

Was impressed by i10's interiors though. Feels good and airy (though have heard some people calling it 'toy car' like).

Cheers

It can be a custom trim done by the dealer.

It could only be a Dealer version as Ami has pointed out and is best avaoided.

The Sportz makes better sense.

Why dont these car companies pose any restrictions on the dealers for manipulating the brands ... I mean ...is it legal for dealers to modify the versions and mislead the consumers ??

I dont think it is illegal to do so. Illegality depends on how they market it.

I've seen such trims in Pratham bangalore.

But in Mithun's case the dealer claimed that it's a newly launched version... if this is not the case really ...then this is clearly a fraud ..isn't it ??

If the dealer claims that it a new version then it is cheating.

(However, we are not sure of the new version yet!!)

I felt that it the HU was not very well integrated in the dash, unlike the one in Sportz.

Also when i told that i dont like the body graphics, he told that i can have it without the graphics also. So i guess it must be a dealer trim. Strangely he didnt have a Sportz trim on display and Magna Plus was very prominently displayed. The salesperson was very much interested to project Magna plus as a much better option than Sportz.

PS : Last week had been to a TATA- FIAT showroom to have a look at GP. After returning I had commented that I was disappointed by the lacklustre attitude of the sales guy there. But after being to a Hyundai showroom I feel that the TATA guy showed more interest in selling his Vista/GP than th one at Hyundai. Hyundai guy was treating me as if I was just a passerby who had dropped in to have a look at various cars. The sales guy from TATA has called me thrice asking me about when i will visit next or when i want a TD. Whereas at Hyundai they didnt even ask if I wanted a TD.

What i infer from this is that we should not generalise in sayng that TATA-FIAT service is bad. It all varies from dealer to dealer. I am utterly disapointed by the attitude of the SP at Hyundai and will surely shun this dealer when I book my i10.
