I find original i10 headlamp quiet effective. Never felt a need to replace them.

i do agree that the i10 headlight is underpowered, when compared to the swift i had in my hometown. i found it difficult while night driving. That is why i thought of adding some kind of fog lamps. I hope that gives look as well as better night vision. What you guys say..

Nikhil, dabance, Ami - one can try not to look at the opposite car's lamps, but at times its just not possible. For example on roads without street lights. Changing your own car's lamps to brighter nes may seem to be a solution but then it will only add to light pollution, and in reality is not a solution. The correct solution is people sticking to the original or equivalent lamps (unless the manufacturer themselves install ultra-brights). Plus there seems to be no regulation regarding lamps (or even if there is, no body seems to be bothered).

One quick question: If suppose a car has bright lights on low beam. Now will this cause any blinding issue if it is pointed correctly?

Yes. From a scientific perspective, the eyes respond to brightness by constricting the pupil (i.e., taking in less light) - this takes a few milliseconds. Also readjusting to darkness takes time. Now at night imagine every 2nd or 3rd car to have bright lights - this is tiring to the eyes' muscles as they have to constantly readjust to alternating brightness & darkness. Now due to the time taken to readjust to brightness and darkness, dark places will simply not be visible properly till the eyes have adjusted and that's where the risk is. Worse still if the bright lights are coming from a direction that's more or less exactly opposite to a driver, the driver will have great difficulty seeing objects behind the light even in his own lane (remember that eyes have now adjusted to the bright light - so object behind the light source which are not greatly illuminated will be virtually invisible or hard to notice).
