Hi guys,

I recently purchased a sprangly used i10 Era for a good rate. I wish to add some accessories that would compliment the car. Below is my list along with the price quoted by "Kalyani car jewels" in Usman road, chennai:

  • Stearing grip - 150rs. onwards till rs.500 for a pure leather cover.
  • External car cover - rs.1200 - I have seen this cover in his shop. It is kinda cloth cum synthetic material which is scratch proof.
  • Keyless entry - Piranha product was quoted at rs. 2400 (basic)
  • Parking assistant - rs. 1500 onwards till rs.5000. The lower end model just has a beep sound where-as the higher model has stats display in the front mirror along with voice assistance. I am not sure how useful/disturbing the voice assistance would be? but i would need a model that would just aid me park when no one is there to help.
  • Tyre cap/cover - This was quoted between rs. 500 to rs. 600 for a i10.
  • Polish/minor scrath remover: Quoted at Rs. 200

Now right down to business, i need some sugesstions:

Keyless entry - which is the best and most reliable model/brand/make that is currently availabe in indian market. I would need good service and product backup. I heard Piranha is good but people are also suggesting Xenos.

Parking assistant - I am not a pro in driving and i have been learning every time i ride behind the wheels. This is all the more reason why i got a pre-owned car. Does it make sense in fitting parking assistant. Does it really help/aid parking in conjusted area? I am just confused whether to buy this or not since i am shelling out 5k for this piece of accessory.

Tyre Cap/cover: Is there any specific make/model that would make this resemble the ones on Magna model? I do not want fancy ones. Just a cap that would look simple and elegant. Please suggest any specific model that would make my tyres look like the ones in i10 Magna model.

Car Polish: I would like to know the brand which everyone would suggest in the forum. I would need to maintain the shine on the vehicle. There are very few minor scratches (since it is a pre-owned car). Is there any specific polish that would help to rub away these minor scratches on the car body.

Apart from the regular body polish,. is there any polish/material/solvent to clean the interiors of the i10. Since the interiors are beige in color, it is extremely difficult to maintain the same.

Last but not the least - The "H" symbol in the stearing is worn, kinda the silver color is worn out. Is there anyway to get it replaced in Hyundai service center? or will this be available in the open market

Thanks guys, awaiting your reply!!

Regards,

 Arun

Steering grip starts from 100 to ____. There is no end to it. I had taken Pro Grip which cost me 600. I would suggest you to pick one that compliments the cars interiors.

External car cover - I guess you can get this at an even cheaper rate. Anways, I am not very well versed with this. Others will be able to help you on this.

Keyless entry - Xenos/Autocop is better. They have good service network also. I would suggest you to pick one with a body sensor.

Parking assistant - It is a useful feature. I personally dont feel much need for it in an i10. As the rear part is fairly visible. Xenos 4 -strobe model which sells for 3k will be a good option.

Tyre Cap/cover: No specific models and brands. Take one that you like and is durable.

How about the H symbol on the stearing? can this be replaced. Is it a part of standard warranty.

Thanks
