1. Vkool is much better than GarWare. Period.

However, if you dont have much travel in the sun, then a basic sun film will do the job. On that front Vkool is better.

2. If you are talking about 40-50% heat reduction, then it would be a lil tight. (I think)

3. Teflon is a brand. We use it in general for the kind of coating that it provides. Like how we use Xerox for photostat. Teflon would impart a glossy finish to your body. It protects it from minor scratches also. It is not recommended if you park your car in Sun for long.

Teflon trademark is held by DuPont. It is available in other brands like 3M/Waxoyl etc....

Anti-rust coating is done under the body so as to prevent rusting. They both are different.

Both of them would be cheaper outside.

4. I am not aware of it. Others would be able to help you.

Remote locking - Autocop/Xenos are good brands.

Hi Anoob,

I can advise you on two things which i know about. One is seat covers and other is sun film. The cover that the dealer must be giving are of artificial leather and the prices also a bit high. You can get premium quality covers for Rs 4000 to Rs.4200 which will last well and are good quality. If you want more details of covers and designs check the website : www.ryderleather.com , for sunfilms i think the prices should be around Rs.1250 for Garware films.

Thanks to all for your inputs.

Ami - whats your opinion about Nippo Central Locking system. About the Suncool films - I guess I'll stick to v-Kool then, about the coating - I presume all are same, whether its Teflon or 3M - yeah?

Shahin - that wbsite was very good, quality people I guess, spoke to them, but unfortunately they dont have a dealership in Pune

- Thanks - Anoob

Nippon is the one supplied by MGA. I would rate Xenos and Autocop above it.

Vkool - will cost around 7k. (I hope you are aware of it).

3M/Llumar - These would come in between Vkool/Garware.

If you dont travel much in the sun, then settle for a basic one. (My view).

Teflon - Any good brand would be fine.

Hi Anoob,

If they do not have dealership in Pune then buy their covers and they will send you by courier. I have bought 4 covers from them already and got them fixed in Kolkata. The quality is excellent, i got half leather covers for all my 4 cars. You can go for them , as you said rightly they are quality people. Go for their covers you will be satisfied surely. Thank you.

Ami, All, Thanks for your inputs.

I spent some time in the dealer showroom yesterday negotiating for the price on accessories.

Finally this is what has been confirmed:

Rubber Mats + Dicky Mats + Remote Locing (MGA provided -Nippo) + Leather seats (Its the usual synthetic material which looks like leather) + 3M body coating + 3M under chassis ocoating + 3M sun films (52 % VLT - SP50 - only side and rear) + Car Perfume (Ambi Pur) = 18500 (including Tax and fitting charges).

I think this is a little high when compared to getting it done from the local car access shop. But then, if the price is bit high and you are getting a good service and warranty from a reputed Maruti Dealer - I think its not a huge loss. Please correct if my thought process is wrong.

Shahid - I spoke to the Ryder guys again and they said that - since its Ritz, they dont suggest anything without getting a real time/physical inspection of the car. So going to them to Mumbai would be the best option. I guess its not very feasible since I reside in Pune!!

Thanks
Anoob

The installation and the skill set for accessories are equal/more in the outside stores. Prices are lower and you get the same warranty that you get at the showroom.

Most important thing is whether you are happy. You are.

Do post the pictures of you car. Share the happiness with us also.

IF you ask me whether I am happy, I am not able to tell you with a whole heart that - "Yes I am". - dont know, may be its becuase I am not in my home town (in my opinion, one feels much more confident in dealing with people whom you know or atleast your friends know!!!) here there is always a feeling of insecurity ..!!!!.

Can you be check and let me know how much am I paying (approx) additional in comparison to an outside vendor.

Will definiteky post the pictures and further reviews after I get my hands on to it

Thanks in advance

Anoob

Rubber Mats + Dicky Mats - 500 - 1000

Remote Locing (MGA provided -Nippo) 5-7k

Leather seats (Its the usual synthetic material which looks like leather) 3-5k

3M body coating - 3-5k

3M under chassis coating 2k

3M sun films (52 % VLT - SP50 - only side and rear) 3k

Car Perfume (Ambi Pur) 100

Outside - 17k

Cross check each prices and then decide on which one to take and from where.

Dont lose confidence even if you are not at your hometown. We are here to help you in whichever way we can.

Seat cover can be chosen from outside. You will have lots of choice outside.

Remote locking with body sensor would cost you around 5k outside.

Floor mats: You can get the long ones for 500-1000. So I would suggest you to get this also from outside.

HI Ami

What are body sensors... I do not have much knowledge about remote locks. I will be getting my car soon and will go for remote locking. If you could shed more light on this then I may be able to question the dealer better

Thanks in Advance !!

Amit
