Thanks for you valuable suggestions. I have booked a Sleek Silver i10 Era today.

As a part of the deal I am getting -

1> Mudflaps

2> Matting

3> Steering Cover

4> Car Cover

5> Perfume

6> Anti-rust Coating

Please help me understand the following -

a> As the sales person suggests, they will provide matting as a set of 4 which is actually carpet cover. Do I need any other matting as well?

b> Does anti rust coating includes rubber coating at the bottom? Is there any preferred brand?

c> I am planning to buy Sony Music System as it is comparatively low priced compared to Pioneer and JVC. I need the USB feature more than anything. Can you suggest some budget models?

d> Any considerations for Seat cover? I am not considering premium stuff like leather etc.

e> The dealer is pushing for teflon coating. Any thoughts? The teflon coating deal is for 2500 they will give 3 coating - firstly at the time of delivery, then after 6 months and then after 1 year.

f> The dealer is also suggesting filming. The glass will be tinted, so does filming on it will make any great difference?

g> Am I missing anything?

h> How effective is HMIL branded security accessories- keyless entry, remote locking, immobilizer etc? It starts from 3000-3500.

Awaiting your valuable response.

Congratulations Samik for the buy.  Your above post has been separated from the earlier thread, as it contains queries on accessories.

A set of 4 mud-flaps is fine.  Anti-rust / under chassis rubber coating is good.  Teflon is basically for shiny/wet looks & would wear-off gradually in 2-3 years.  Sun films will help keep your car cooler - AC will be a little more effective - will also give a little privacy - go for RTO approved ones.

Others will be able to guide you better - with finer details.   Would like to mention that take all that the dealer gives you free.  Buy the rest from outside - it will be cheaper by 20-25% - workmanship will not be a problem with good & reliable accessory shop.  You can, however, ask for concessions & compare the prices (dealer v/s outside).

I think it went unnoticed. Pls help me address these queries -

> For Anti Rust Coating, what are the brands I should insist from the dealer. There is 3M for 3000-3500. Du Pont should be more than that. There seems to be another brand called Metalex for 3500 with 7 yrs warranty. Any feedback/ thoughts?

Samik,

Congrats! Even I purchased i10 (1.2 Mag) for self a few days back.

I went for a plain jane ordiniary Underbody Anti Rust coating costing me Rs. 1575 in Delhi from the Hyundai authorised dealer itself. Quite functional I would say.

Had it been a sedan I would have advised you a full body and doors teflon coating @ 4500/- with 3 year warranty and recoating. But for a hatch, its your wish. Since Kol's climate is a little hot and humid as compared to Delhi, hence you may wanna go with this extra expense as well. But hey, It does not do any good for the car resale value, its just a piece of mind for you. Money mouth

The default Beige mats were provided by the dealer in my case FOC. BUT I still went with the transparent PU rubber mats@350/- which are lying over and above the Beige mats. Looks pretty neat now.

To save money, Go with Garware 50% Ice Cool film. Rs. 750/- only.

Dear Puneet,

Grey is TOOOOO common now a days. Better go with the gold color, Not to everyone's liking but quite sobre and different. I went with the blushing red againt family wishes now after seeing the car in person every one is liking the color. Laughing

I dont know which city you are in , so unless u reside in an area where is rains a lot JUST DONT GO WITH rear wash and wiper.

Lemme tell you very frankly, We indians are still not ready for ABS, EBD, rear wiper, air bags and all that. Good to discuss these things but tell me how many people actually are happy on roads using the seat belts and helmets??? Better wait for 30 min till the rain stops and then drive.

In India, the rear wiper wont come handy if that idiot driving a mammoth MUV/SUV @ 60 KMPH on a rainy day doesnt have respect for others sharing the road with him.

My i10 Magna with mudflaps, foot mat, gear lock, divinity costed me 3.85L on road. Sunrise hyundai gave me heck of a deal and IMHO it was way better than what others offered.

Well, If you have money to spare, go with Teflon, but the extra sheen will invite prying eyes. So be safe and go with underbody russt coating but pls lemme know, which part of India do you reside to guide you better.

Hi Samik,

Recently we were discussing about accessories for i10 sports model with Shilendra. I suggested him the accessories and prices also , you can view that thread.

Do not buy anything from the dealer as Pankaj suggested they will take very high prices from you, buy everything from car accessories shops outside.

Coming to your requirements -

No need to go for any type of flooring, just buy good quality foot mats which will cost you around Rs 750 to Rs 800. They are more than enough to protect the original car floor carpet.

Do not know exact prices of mud flaps but should cost around Rs.400 to 500.

As i suggested Ryder covers to Shilendra, i would suggest you also to contact Ryder people, they must be having a distributor in kolkata , get quotes for pu seat covers and steering wheel covers from them, i have bought leather covers for all my four cars here in kolkata. I got them from Ryder Mumbai years back. Other brands cost you Rs 5,500 and same quality Ryder cover would cost Rs 4,000. Contact them for exact quotes or ask their dealer number of Kolkata. I have explained in details about the seat covers in Shilendra's thread.

You can go for Ambi-pur car perfume costing around Rs.150 or others which are imported ones but bit expensive around Rs.550

Other members have given the explaination for the under coating.

You can go for sunfilms of 2 companies , one garware which would be around Rs.1250 and Llumar which would cost you around Rs.2200

You have to tell me more about the music system you need , whether you like loud music , or you need high bass effect etc. After your explaination for the music system i can give you all the details, so let me know about it.

Well, The reason for the good deal could be I did a car buyback also and over and above the car evaluation price which remains more or less the same, I also got 10K loyality or buy back bonus and in all around 23-24K of differece which is boldly published in news papers now. So, May be I collected all of those discounts thanks to those people at Sunrise Hyundai, Patparganj.

I went to Samara before , but the difference of 19K pulled me towards Sunrise. In that saved money I got 16K of aloywheels and rest for PU seat covers(Beige) and Garware Film.

3.93L is in no way a bad deal. Please keep us updated on the ICE setup and other Accessories that you go with.

Happy Buying!!!!
