Remote locking offer different levels of security depending on the version you select. It can help to an extent in securing ICE.

i10 doesnt come with an immobilizer.

My i10 Magna with mudflaps, foot mat, gear lock, divinity costed me 3.85L on road. Sunrise hyundai gave me heck of a deal and IMHO it was way better than what others offered.

Hi Suraj, Karthik & Others having i10 with gear lock,

Please upload few photos of the gear lock of your i10. I've also requested Puneet to upload the same in another thread.

It will be very helpful for me as I would like to install the same in my i10 Magna which will be delivered next week.

Thanks a lot.

hi... Bought my new silver i10era on 6th of this month from mgf ...

upgraded from remote keylesss entry which i was getting for free to Hyundai MAX by paying 2400 (bit too much ... i guess)

i was not sure if i really needed it as i was already getting a gear lock but installed it for peace of mind ...

had read somewhere tht MAX has anti-hijacking and password feature but when i asked the guy at the showroom  he said NO ... but later when i read the manual i realized it is there ...

thinking of calling up autocop and asking them to explain these features as the manual is bit ambiguous .... ANY OF YOU HAVING MAX ON YOUR CAR ???? PLZ EXPLAIN HOW ANTI HIJACKING WORKS ???

got pioneer basic music system + 4 sony speakers for 10k (again bit too much)

think could hv got all these cheaper outside but didn't want to risk the warranty

also got side biddles attached..

the car body cover which i got for free is tht cheap plastic one ...Frowni realized this after reching home....   But no point regretting now ..,should hv been careful earlier ,....

the gear lock which i got for free is pin type in biege .. the dealer said gear can be locked only in reverse but if i am getting the mechanics of the lock right it should be able to lock in any gear except neutral ....(the rod passes through the middle and does not allow the gear to move up in caseof reverse gear so similarly it should stop the gear from moving down in first gear) am i right ?????

WILL POST PICS OF THE GEAR LOCK ASAP....

BTW will get my RC only after 2 months ... will showing just the invoice do till then ???

LOts of ques ... i know ... but just a bit excited as it's my first car ....

Hey Ami. just an update. i10 Era comes with an Immobilizer. But it's optional. You have to pay a few grands more for that. This is effective since 16th Jun.

For remote locking you need to install a half kit only costing 2250 (AutoCop, but Hyundai branded).

hi vihar ..

The insurance thing was Hyundai limited period offer and all dealers were giving that .. Not sure u would get that now ...

As far as other discounts are concerned it's by competing one dealer with another ...

just go to a dealer and say that i am getting this this discount from the other dealer and get his price qoute ...then go to another dealer and repeat the same adding some more discount and freebies to the first quote...

The 14 k i got was 10k dealer discount and 4k by telling tht i am teacher in public school so the corporate discount ... actually only govt school teachers get corporate discount... but if u tell them so and so dealer is offering me corporate discount they will also give it to u (in a way it thiss 4k is also dealer discount as corporate disc is not for public school teachers and so no proof is required and they won't even ask for it)

Hey i guess "shraadh" are also cmg so if u can wait u would be able to get a better deal then

As far as accessories are concerned u have to really persuade them for it

Just give them a list tht i want all these accessories in my car and tell me wht all u can give for free and slowly slowly try to get him to include as many things as possible

Getting a good deal requires visits to an number of dealers but it's worth the hardwork

It was my first car and i had limited info abt this whole buying procedure ... if i can get a good deal i am sure anyone can

Best of luck... keep us updated abt ur experience

onroads , you should have taken the manual. I really hope you have taken the warranty card atleast .

Now, if you could post a pic of remote  it may give some clue about your security system . Mine with Max has a black remote with 3 blue buttons . one for locking the door , one for unlocking and one for starting/stopping siren .

Max has 2 stage unlocking wherein one press of unlock button opens only the driver's door , a second press opens other doors. If your lock has 1 stage unlocking then it's most probably not MAX.

If possible, go to dealer and ask for manual and warranty card (if you don't have that) for learning the proper functioning of all features of your system . It's not possible to talk abt all features untill one knows the exact model.
