Accessories - buying getz 1.1GLE this week

Hi All,

I'm planning to buy getz 1.1 GLE. I need your help in following -

1. apart from 20000 discount. dealers in chennai are also offering 7000 cash discounts which is not being offered in bangalore and they confimred that its a india wide discount. Since i'm buying it in bangalore, can someone confirm if they got this cash discount apart from the existing 20k discount being offered, If they bought Gtez recently or if its available?

2. What all free accessories can I bargain for when I buy this car. currently i'm offered car cover, mud flaps, mats and remote central locking free. can I still bargain for car seat covers & sun film?

yes dude go ahead and bargain for car films but seat covers will be doubtful that he will provide....also try for free extended warranty ......getz is a good buy and quite spacious car.....bargain more for cash discount upto 10,000

seat covers will be difficult to get for free. You can try bargaining the price for the seat covers but that too is doubtfull. You can try and ask for free teflon coating and sun films. Those wont cost much to the dealer and he might give in.

Dear Kapil, I m user of Getz 1.1 since last 6 months. Getz is a fabulous car to own and it has loads of positive points compared to other cars in the segment. But I would like to let you know the few minus points of the car.

1. 1.1 ltr is seriously underpowered. In routine travel, you will not feel it much, but once you are on highway and loaded with 5 ppl & luggauge, the car feels very slugish.

2. Compared to other cars in the segment AC is not that powerful.

In view of this, it is advisable to give one thought to Vista saffire, which is equally good car. Ansd again it is fresh in the market. However it's boot space is bit smaller than Getz and front vision is bit poor. Plastic quality is also not that good.

I m not here to confuse you, but to help you to take better decision. All the best.

Thanks Bhavin for genuine suggestion. I know this all since almost 5-6 friends of mine have this car.

I know that 1.1 is less powered and it has AC problem too but the only reason I’m buying this car is because I don't feel very comfortable in santro and vista's review wasn't good and somehow I also didn't like that when I took the test drive.

I just fell in love with this specious car. Features provided with this car is really VFM and seats, dashboard is amazingly specious. If I compare the features of this car I may have to shell out almost a lakh more to get the same features in any other hatch. I can settle for the 1.1 engine  J

Kapil, it's a good car but for sluggish behaviour when loaded & with AC on - sometimes painful. But your thought-process on VFM (pricing/package) & space/comfort is fine.

                 Could you please post the actual mileage of the 1.1 Getz in City with AC and in highways? I heard that the 1.3 Getz gives only around 10 and hope the 1.1 gives better...

Dear Dinesh, my getz 1.1 give 10-11 in city with AC and on highway 14. I feel that 1.1 ltr Capacity & 3 cylinder engine is not enough for heavy body of Getz and AC is must for our weather. So both these add to the lower F.E. Further, I used to drive in bit heavy traffic during office hours. 4th gear is dream in those hours. But it is for sure that, 1.1 ltr - 3 cylinder  is not enough for Getz. So anyone buying Getz must opt for 1.3 ltr. Though in routine drive, where I can not drive much faster, 1.1 is just ok, but for highway trip it is a big NO ( For Power only). Otherwise as a car, getz is a gem of a car and it has many positive points which many other cars don't have. All the best.

I have been owning Getz Prime 1.3 for a couple of months now, and have already driven it 4000 Kms.

Till now with 50/50 city/highway driving it has given me a consolidated average of 14 km/lt with AC always on. and post the next two free services, the average is bound to increase a bit further.

See if this much average can suit you..

Apart from this i would also suggest you to go for 1.3, as there is hardly any price difference between the two, whereas the pic up and ac in 1.3 is pretty good.
