Fog lamps give you better visibility during fogs. If you live in a fog prone area, it is quite useful.

Some ppl prefer it for mere looks.

Do they play any significant role during rains... I mean do they help in visibility while it's raining hard ... As you know I am going for Wagon R LXI which doesn't have fog lamps ...but though in Pune it rains quite a bit in Monsoon , i wanted to enquire/clarify this thing.... So that if it is really required then I can go for them as an extra item in accessories.

Fog lights increases visibility of road surface (near - not distant) in fog, rain & dusty conditions.  Fog lights are basically meant to be used at lower speed in such conditions.

Fog lights are seldom used in the real sense they are actually meant for.

Nevertheless, if you buy it from outside accessory shop, it would cost much cheaper.
