Black is a good colour, I guess it is also non metallic like red.

Only deterrent for black is that visibility in the night is quite poor.

Imagine the cost!!!

the cost is an intial investment of 2-2.5k and the remaining coats come for free. but getting it done at the correct intervals is very important.

any idea about black

black is same as red. Infact if you live in a place where the average temperatures are high, your car will heat up faster as black absorbs more heat. Better go in for some lighter shades if possible like grey/silver/white.

Initial coat and 2 recoats are the standard pack that they give in most of the cases. Its like a 1 year maintenance for the coat(1 application every 6 months). Remaining depends on how you bargain with the dealer.

And I am aware of the fact of using the edit button with 10 minutes but this time i used to quote on different posts and so missed it. Check my previous posts in case of any doubtsSmile

For chennai weather, I do not think Black also fits the bill.... it will heat up quickly, will show dusty, will be showing the scratches more prominantly.

I was also planning for Teflon caoting, but after reading the advantages and disadvantages I decided not to opt for Teflon caoting, My car will be parked in open with a cover on it. I would rather apply wax to the car every 2-3 months, which will protect the car color and also give a shiny finish and also would be less expensive than Teflon!
