Hi guys,

Guys I need some help from you people I am looking to buy a new car and after lot of research have zeroed in on Hyundai Accent Executive, Tata Indigo CS (GLX or LX TDI) & Maruti Swift Dziree VXI. The highest I can go in term of expenditure would be Five Lakh Fifty Thousand…

I would be driving in city only and around 500 kms per month only and am looking for a vehicle with great mileage, sitting space of around 05 pax, good decent interiors and most economical services & spare parts. I have done my research and still confused about which car to buy. I know that Indigo CS comes with most of the things I desire but interiors are of poor quality but then again I would be saving around One lakh on the other cars. As for Dziree I wouder if the extra lakh is worth a additional CD Player and tubeless tires. For Accent have read in the forum several times about it being phased out and then again not being phased out although I understand that interiors in Indigo CS are not even 25% of Accent Executive.

I intend to keep my car for at least next five years.

Guys am really looking forward to buy a sedan and am not particularly interested in hatchbacks. Do let me know what would be the best for me.

I await your responses.

Warm Regards,

Gaurav Khanna

Dzire will not be comfortable for 5 - the rear seat / legroom is a little cramped. It will return mileage of 11-13 in city & 16-18 on highway (depending upon the driving conditions & style).

Accent is spacious/comfortable but does not return good mileage - it would give 9-11 in city & 15-16 on highway.

CS is spacious/comfortable & would return better mileage (same as Dzire) - would give 11-13 in city & 16-18 on highway.

Performance of CS is quite decent but will not match with that of Accent & Dzire. Like-wise interiors/features of CS will not match with that of Dzire & Accent.  Maintenance cost of CS is almost at par with Dzire & lower than Accent.  However, CS is a great VFM - pricing vis-à-vis package. It will serve your preferences & purpose the best - and will save Rs.1 lac (the other two cars may not fit your total/max.budget of Rs.5.50 lac).

Between CS Petrol & Diesel, Diesel has better performance & is fuel efficient & economical.

Please have a look at the comparison amongst these cars - go through the Specifications, Features & All Features.  Check for prices/discounts locally.

Hi Pankaj,

Thanks for your reply.

Just want to confirm what kind of discounts can I expect on Dzire and on CS as have already got a discount of around 22.5 K on accent + also let me know what kind of free accessories can be negotiated with Dzire.

Awaiting your response.

Regards,

Gaurav Khanna

Hi Gaurav,

For your requirement Ascent would be the best choice. For 500 KM a month, you need really bother about mileage. Ascent has a decent mileage of 11-12 in city which is good enough --

Yes Indigo CS is VFM but then you are compromising on riding comfort, interior, looks etc.

22.5K discount on Ascent is quite good. Are you considering recent Hyundai offer of free Panasonic music system with four speakers in this discount?

Yes I am being offered MP3 player from Panasonic with two speakers for Hyundai Accent I would negotiate further for four speakers apart from that some discounts are there on the accesories like seat covers etc.

Also any idea if and discounts on Dzire are there ?????? as all of the dealers have so far said no when talked on phone....

You cant expect much discounts on Dzire as there is a huge queue for the car.

Besides, as discussed before, Dzire will be uncomfortable for 5 (your requirement). Take a test-drive with family & decide.

CS is obviously not a match for Accent & Dzire (discussed before) - but for the VFM factor & your budget/preferences.

If you go for Accent or Dzire, nothing like it.
