@ Sumit, I am neither defending nor promoting Fiat. I don't want the members of this forum to get bad impression about the car, because someone has said sth without giving any analysis.

I am not angry, I am just putting my point firmly and everyone has all the rights to do it if they have confidence.

Please, stop bringing Palio - please limit your discussions to Linea and Punto. This is a new Fiat India set up and let them give some time to prove themselves.

Hey hey cool down guys. I think we get what we pay for. I've heard lot of things about Indian Punto's shabby interior vis a vis its European counterpart. In india price plays a major role. May be few of us won't mind paying higher price for our beloved car. But what happens to rest of the people? The Mass? Also don't forget one factor VFM - hate to admit, but it does play a major role. The manufacturers have to keep this thing in mind while deciding on the price. Our 'Chalta hai' attitude also plays a major part in almost every field, that explains why we won't get the products at par their European or say American counterpart.

We have come a long way since the days of Ambis & PALs, but still have to go a long way. And I do hope, some day we will have the best things in the world.

Cheers

Read the recent article about Linea vs. Honda City in BSM Motoring where it is clearly mentioned that one of the plastic parts of Linea break apart during TD and the Auto journalist was very pissed off due to failure to improvement on part of Fiat management.

Sumit:

Each car has got its +ve & -ve. Please remember. Before the launch of the car there is lot of Money/menpower & reserch is involved. No manufecturer would ever work on these thinking that he wants to deliver bad product, is just like every parent want their child to be the best but your child is always going to be different then others like you & me are. Please remember these companies are run by profesionals who certainly want to proove a point in todays world.

In different threads you read the dicussion abt the old Honda city was better then the AHNC, etc etc.... or you also read that Linea has the max no of fetures to its counterpart etc etc.....

SO i woudl say there is scope for improovment in all cars. As far as maintaining 800 is concerned certainly its cheaper then Palio as well as swfit or any other car as it can not be compared. I think for FIAT, no one has complained for the price but there has always been complains about non availabilty of the parts & service which is now been addressed with JV with TATA. BTW I Own Palio & have also driven 800/Zen & PALIO has been the cheapest to maintian for last 6 years.

I my self feel that Punto/Liena plastic should hv been better , infact i like my Palio NV plastic quality & knob finish much more then Linea , but then there is a lot more good in Punto/Linea which will allow me to forgive FIAT & still tempt me to buy it.

This was just to answer the point raised.

I agree with Prashant tht discussion in this thread should be restricted to the subject & Nitin has made valid point. Each car is good in their own respect. Match your choice & decide on the one which suffice your need & touches your heart convincing your mind...BTW the person who had started this thread has already bought Punto recently.. Lets await his ownership expereince as well.

Cheers...

I will be the first to admit that the interior plastics in Punto dont inspire much confidence and some of the plastic parts do look/feel cheap.

Its not befitting for a premium hatchback and certainly is out of sync with the extremely beautiful exterior.

But if we look at the competition (120,Jazz) then we must admit that Punto has been priced much lower and comes loaded with features.

Had FIAT provided better plastics and priced Punto 30-40K higher, we would have then castigated FIAT for getting the pricing all wrong.

I am OK with the plastics as long as dont keep falling. I knew what I was paying for and considered Punto VFM. No car can ever be perfect. We just need to find one which suits our needs the most.

Maybe in future FIAT will launch a newer edition Punto which will come with better interior plastic quality.

But there is no denying the fact that some people may be staying away from Punto due to the interiors. How I wish Punto came with i10's interiors.

Regards

I think as far as Space is concerned,Punto steals the show,If VFM then Ritz still ahead ...Just my views...

PUNTO is indeed a good car and no fuss about it...

Lets not bring our views here on this thread,Thread asks your opinion...Lets be brief and have our votes

I vote For Ritz...
