Sam, I think we have met once. I bought my car in March 09 (manufactured in Jan 09). I had my ECU replaced, but improvement of AC is just marginal. I have replied to you in another thread. If you need something to be done from St. Antony's you need to bother them repeatedly with your problem, else they dont care much.

Yes, you need an ECU software upgrade or a hardware change. I too had a similar problem, but after the replacement the AC has improved (though marginally).

Having to change/upgrade the ECU (or its software) to solve the AC problems looks like bad design to me - I would have liked to think that the AC cut-off temperature would be something that's externally programmable (settable, rather like we have on those manual thermostats of yore) instead of being preset inside the ECU itself.

On the other hand having it preset inside the ECU would mean that nobody can tamper with it...

In my case the grill temp was around 6 - but the cut off was not related to this. So the problem was not with the thermistor or thermostat, but with the ECU. This is my conclusion.

Sunitha, actually there was no problem with the AC, so I haven't checked the grill temperature. The ECU upgrade is done regardless of the AC issue. This is done by TML experts directly and not by the service center people. This process will be done at all cities in phases as told by the TML personnel. So dont worry, it's just a matter of time.
