hehehe -- that's true about the power window switch.

Anyone with a renewed note on the rectification of the AC problem in Vista?

Anil, I had checked the AC issue with the TASC people a couple of days ago when I went for 3M anti-corrosion treatment. It seems that there was some problem with the AC compressor in few cars. They are replacing the compressor under warranty. I was told that there were no complaints after the compressor was replaced

Hi All,

I was thinking to buy my first car - Visa Safire in next month. But reading a these  A/c and other problems not sure if I should go for it . Pls suggest.

Also some of the reviews show city mileage as 14 KM/L with AC on. Is this true on an avarage case?

Is the A/c in efficient due to large space inside(more cubic area to cool)?

finally which version is VFM? specially want to know if there any real benefit of the back supports in the seat of top end version?

Is there any drawback of R13 tyres ? compared to R14 of quadraject ?

Pls advise.

Umesh,

I am using Safire Aura since last 8 months & crossed 10000 kms. Mileage you can expect around 11 to 12 kmpl in city with ac. AC is very efficient in my car but some people in the forum have reported that ac is not effective. Please cross check with your dealer whether ac problem is resolved in new batch of cars. If you can afford, please go for top end model aura as this really VFM. There is no draw back with R 13 tyres but looks small for a big car. Lumbar support is very good for the back in the long drive and works reasonably well.

Anil, What Arun has said is true. My dealer also confirmed the same. Some particular make of ac is a problem. Mine is "Subros" and this make seems to be not having problem

You will find a green/blue label on the right of chassis no. (radiator support panel) mentioning the make of the AC Compressor.

Some Vista Safire & QJD have compressor from Subros while some from Behr.  The problem is reportedly with the ones having Behr.  All Vista TDi have Subros.

I understand Behr compressor is now not being used in Vista.

Ask the dealer to replace the compressor with that of Subros.  Reportedly, some such cases/replacements have been provided – under warranty.

Pankaj, My Vista QJD is having Behr AC. Right now there are no issues with the AC. Do all Behr ACs have problem or prone to problem in future? Should I have to ask for a replacement?
