I have heard that TML have introduced certain Turbo thing to improve their AC.  Has anyone heard of it.  What changes have TML made in last months to improve the car ?

I booked my Indica Vista Aura Saffire on the very first day of launch at Kolkata and have been using it for 8 - 9 months now.

Have covered around 6500 Kms covered and have completed couple of servicing.

Though i'm satisfied with its look, feel, space, pick up, etc but i have some real issues with it as on date.

Listing them down for your opinion / feedback / suggestion:

1. Vista Safire shows a Fuel Tank of 37 Ltrs (as per Car Manual) but gulps down 45 Ltrs whenever i go for a refill at the pump. I have changed pumps but to no avail. People at the pump say, even Sumo gulps down 68 for a full tank but has 60 written in the Manual. Is it a problem then with Tata Vehicles or is it a specific problem that i should refer to Tata Motors ?

2. Mileage - A pathetic 8 Km / Ltr at Kolkata City with AC always on. Is this ok ?

3. Noise with A/c On - If i roll up my windows and i'm inside i get to hear nothing but when i step out of the car there is quite a loud buzzing noise. Is Vista really that noisy ?

4. Pathetic Cooling at the Rear Seats

Trust i would receive some helpful tips from all you guys around.

Srij.

  1. The fuel tank capacity mentioned in the car manual is not accurate.  However, the variation isn't so high, like stated by you.  In any case, it isn't a problem - good you have more fuel to accommodate  Smile
  2. Vista Safire general returns mileage of 11-13 in city (depending upon the driving conditions & style).  The figures derived by you are on lower side.  Get it checked/serviced.  I think it should return 10-11 despite the traffic conditions you have been driving in.
  3. Engine noise is always higher while the AC is on (all cars).
  4. AC is relatively less effective in Vista - especially at the rear seats during the afternoons.  Have a look at this post/photos.

Hi

i have changed my ac blower thrice now in 8months of ownership. the noise is visible few days after blower replacement. some kind of buzz noise. do  i need change the service center?  in past the noise is audible only when i am in recycle/internal mode with fan speed 4. after every change the noise is audible at lower speeds too. i told the service center to check. they say its normal.

i would like to ask fellow vista owner do you hear such kind of noise. the service center people are prompt to respond how ever the quality of the work done is still lagging. i dont know whether they understand it or not. even after pratical illustration..things are getting worse.

can some one suggest what should i do to get it done. i own QJD aura.

Anil, today I just checked up with the TASC people today about the AC problem in Vista. It seems like a certain batch of cars have problem with the AC compressor. The problem being the noise when the AC is on, same like you had mentioned. So the AC compressor had been changed under warranty for few cars and now there is no problem.

So check it up with your regular service center and meanwhile, do visit another center and get a concurrence.

My Vista Safire Aura is 20 days old, and I too face the same problem. AC not cooling upto my satisfaction. Have noted what Mr. S Roy has said - "there is a power cut off after reaching a certain level of temperature in your AC. Due to manufacturing defect that cut off is happening before reaching the desired temperature level. So your AC is not cool. This needs to be fixed."

I will ask the service guy to do this. Lets hope it gets resolved.

Hi Arun,

i spoke to tata regional office, they checked my issue history, they want to check the system. they have asked to visit the service center for complete check ac. let me see if this going to work or not. i spoke to service center manager, he told they will be cross checking with tata people. if the issue still exist they will decide the course of action.

1. Vista Safire shows a Fuel Tank of 37 Ltrs (as per Car Manual) but gulps down 45 Ltrs whenever i go for a refill at the pump. I have changed pumps but to no avail.

This might be a safety feature from preventing the fuel pump from running dry.
