hi....

i'd recently purchased a resale santro 2005 model.

i had observed that the steering vibrates when i cross 80kmph.(only steering vibrates - rest of the car doesnt)

b4 taking delivery of the car, after having a test drive, i felt that the wheel alignment was improper and the service guy told that the problem is rectified.

so any hints why this vibration occurs after hitting 80kmph?

is that due to the improper wheel alignment?

ur inputs will be useful...

thnx

Hi Raj ,

This can be due to wear & tear of your existing tyres. Check you tyres.. if they are old then yo need to replace them.. this should solove your problem.

To add to the above, chek the wheel alignment also.

i think its tyres & wheel alignment might not work.....I have gone thru this once myself....hence my opinion

get your tyers checked with a known tyer shop in your area & get opinion...

The vibration will not be due to alignment-it will most likely be due to improperly balanced front tyre's.

First check the air pressure in all the four tyres and inflate to the recommended levels, if the vibrations still persists get the front wheels balanced front followed by the rear wheels.

Hi

shall get the car checked for the wheel balance and air pressure and then get back with the outcome.

It could possibly also be due to some dent on one of the front wheel-rims.

Hi,

I'm facing same problem with my recently purchased used Santro model 2001. Whenever i try to touch 80 kmph, car steering starts vibrating.

Moreover, at 100 kmph, the whole interior vibrates.

Due to this only, i got two tyres changed (2 were already in good condition). Then get the alignment and balancing done properly. Still the problem persists, didn't reduce by a bit.

Please help.

Thanks,

Yogesh
