Hi friends! I have almost decided to go ahead with Booking a Swift dzire inspite of the huge waiting period which could extend upto 4-5 months!

I need advice on the following points regarding making a Final Choice between LXi and VXi :

(a)  I am not too keen on power windorw on all 4 doors as i will be driving alone mostly. Therefore i would prefer to have power windors installed separately on LXi model ONLY on the front doors thereby saving some money.

(b) Also i could have choice of installing a Music system of my choice on LXi where as VXi comes with the Integrated NIPPON make Music system. ( How is the performance of the Intergrated system, Any suggestions on any Alternate Make? )

(c) Also other features could be installed in LXi as the need be. ( Ex Power windows, Fog lamps, etc)

Any suggestion on this? Whether i'd making a mistake by going for LXi instead of VXi ...?

Regards,

Sumer

Mechanically the LXi is identical to the VXi. The main differences lie in the power windows/music system and the instrumentation(tacho on the VXi) also the warning light and the remote lock systems.

All this can be added to the LXi for about half the price difference but at resale the same savings will be lost for the lower LXi comapred to the VXi.(so it a gain now loose later situation-as well enjoy the VXi).

The stock HU on the VXi is all but very average and will not suit the audiophile and possibilites of upgradation are also minimal.

After adding ICE, front power windows, key less entry and fog lamp, your cost will be same as Vxi but you will be missing many other things, which are standard on Vxi.  Choice is yours.

@Amit: ICE and fog lamps would be cheaper. Same for keyless entry.

Power window's cost would be at par, but the fitting/finish wont be as great as in VXi.

However, the most important point is that these are not very much considered at the time of selling.

@Sumer: It can be be changed to an alternate make. All you have to do is get a dash kit, which give it a stock look.

Dear friend, I am a proud owner of dezire vxi. I was also on the same way on which you are. make some calculation and u will find that you r paying the same amount as that of VXI model after instaling the accss. on lxi. model. rather all the factory fitted acc. perform well.

I will suggest u to go for VXI only. Dezire is a vary good car from maruti

Go for VXI... as you will get a lot of small small features additional to the power windows & Music System. As Binoy suggested you will get good resale value later.

Amit,

Do look at the dates when the query was asked. There is no point in replying to post that is very old.
