I never touch my car with a dry cloth when its dusty. Never with a dry cloth. Neither I allow my car washer guy to wipe a dry cloth for dusting. If car is dusty & there is a time constraint, I rather let it be dusty than to quickly wipe it with dry cloth. Wiping/ dusting with a dry cloth leaves faint scratches & Swirl marks on clear coat. I've a washer guy (complusion for timing constraints). He daily cleans the car with sufficiently wet cloth - strictly as per my instructions. He washes the car every Sunday (every 2nd Sunday with Formula 1 Wash & Wax Shampoo). FOr Wash, I've given him banyan clothes which are the best I found after several trials & errors with costlier clothes. For drying after the washing, I've given him Chamoise & also Microfiber cloth.

I apply pure Wax regularly (not polish - I stay away from anything related to Polish for regular usage) almost once a month or in 2 months. Used Formula 1 Carnauba wax (original) & now using a much better TurtleWax super hardshell wax. Following pic is after 1 such application of TurtleWax on my 6 month old Linea

Really beautiful picture and excellent information.

In my Ritz, I have put Grware sun  film for glasses.

To day morning I applied collin glass solution for the front glass and then dry cotton cloth used for drying.

But the glass looks turdy with different colour pattern like the colored thin film.

From outside, the glass do not look clean and transaparent. Is it happening due to sun film attached?

Where I can have those 3M plast shield and 3M glass shine? What will be the price? I wish to know.

Dry-dusting will put scratches/swirl marks only if the surface is sticky - disallowing smooth dusting - not otherwise.  Using sufficiently-wet-cloth daily (with or without dusting) would increase the use of water (should be avoided - in my opinion).  In any case, it's difficult to avoid minor swirl marks in long term - in either case.

Cleaning glasses - finally with newspaper - helps.

By the way I have dozens of 3M Plast Shield and 3M Glass Shine. These are left overs from a promotional activity that we did a while ago, If anybody wants few do let me know.

Dear Adam,

i would lke to try 3M Plast Shield and 3M Glass Shine. So, pls let me know the price and how i get it at my place. I hardly see any counter selling 3M products.

I am car care enthusiast myself, but my enthu of car care is limited to parlour or spa level only.  That means car-care to me is just ''beautify and keep clean and keep hygenic''. LOL.

But, i can make professionals to run for their reputations !

I have got good stuff of car-care products for myself and keep buying something new everytime.

@ I am using this glass cleaner the which i have in 5 ltr can. It is paste like material not the liquid. I apply it with damp sponge on glass surface in small (may be tiny) circular motion and let it dry to haze.
The material is blue but when dries becomes white. Buff it off when dried and what you get is sparkling clean transperant glass without slightest streak of glare!

Hi Adam,

Can I have 3M plast shield and glass cleaner?

My only concern is that you have to spend from your own pocket to mail it to me. That does not look correct to me.

This Sunday I waxed my car using 3M premium liquid wax. It was quite eay to apply and to wipe off.

The whole process of washing the car and waxing it took around 1hr40mins. Quite a tiring job, but the end result was very satisfying.

Have placed an order for Turtle super hardshell solid wax. Heard many good reviews about it.

How often do we need to wax a car? I am planning to wax it once in 2 months.

I wax once in 6months and btw i dont mind bearing logistics charges because it would hardly come upto 50-100 bucks.
