I have finally planned to settle down with following offers/reasons...

As Mr Kesaven Kutty (Senior Sales Manager) at M/s Marikar engineer is very friendly and feel he just want to sort it out in an amicable way. - some times it may be their tactics

he has offered few accessories and he is asking for few weeks time to settle it. he is providing it one by one. any how he is offered accessories worth Rs 50000/ and above.

Since the settlement is unofficial it may be unfair if I disclose it.

They have already installed few accessories and few of them are pending- Each time he will send a driver to pick up and drop my vehicle. So no head ache...   Mr Kesaven Kutty offered a courtesy car during the fitment process but I rejected that offer

All settlements are unofficial therefore no reason to signing on any of the agreements.

Once he has filled a full tank of petrol  ..., provided an additional floor mate (transparent /plastic) as it is rainy season here, offered free painting work required because of a hit (bike) in the rear bumper. These are provided me with out even intimating me..

It may be their business tactics but feel comfortable with his dealing

Also I personally checked the manufacturing year printed in the window glass of latest models [released in march or april 2009] of  Laura TSI and suprub parked in the showroom and is "2008". The delay in delivery may be because of the Skoda's manufacturing process - manufactured in a foreign country - Shipped to India -  assembled in india - this may take few months to complete... But in my case it is completed all the manufacturing process before July 2008 and providing a forged sales certificate (Jan 2009) can not be justified. Since the situation is like this, Mr Madho Rao of M/S Marikar Engineers, Kochi, Kerala can at least provide me my favorite colour - Canturbury Beige

Now I would like to inform you all that, please beware of "Mr. Madhu Rao" at M/s Marikar Engineer (P) Ltd/ Kerala. If we talk to him we may feel he is a gentle man but he is a real cheat.. a man with no ethics......... who has forged the sales certificate..... dishonored the presales offer - Mud Flap.... So if you are planning to buy a vehicle from Skoda / Marikar engineers Kerala, please avoid him... otherwise you will be the next victim...

continue from previous post

With my experience I would like to forward few tips for new buyers [This may be applicable to all brands]

1. Find the specifications from the Car companies website - do not trust the sales executives.
2. Insist for a written statement regarding the price, model, variant, presales offers before making the advance payments.
3. Insist to see the vehicle that is reserved for you and do a through inspection  - possibly with an automobile expert and confirm it is scratch/fault free.
4. If  the vehicle is OK, note the engine and chassis number and pay the full amount
5. Before the papers send to the RTO please confirm all the Presales offers / accessories are fitted. If it is OK you may permit the dealer for RTO formalities and take the delivery.
6. On delivery, please recheck the vehicle and confirm the chassis number, presales accessories etc. and sign on the delivery note.
7. If you are buying from M/s Marikar Engineers (P) Ltd, Kochi, Kerala. Beware of Mr Madhu Rao.  (Sales). We may feel he is very simple and straight forward but he is a real cheat with no ethics

Thanks everybody for providing support and guidance for me to handle this issue..

Dear Kuriakose,

I thought your nightmare ended the other day.  Curious to know what's happening with the Fabia.  There are lots of problems with Fabia in general.  Would like to know Mr. Midhun's problem as well.  I will add this to TeamBHP to support them as well. Please do write the details.

Mithun's problem - a case of cheating - read here.

I think people who buy luxury cars should do a simple search on the net and then decide on which car to buy. You would be surprised with the search results and about what you will find especially with Skoda. Please check www.teambhp.com and you will get a million reasons for not choosing Skoda. You can hear stories of a thousand people struggling with their service and hoping to receive their refunds. There is a guy who had gone legally and waiting since more than a year for the refund and paying his EMI's to take the matter forward and all the time without driving his car since it is at their workshop. He finally bought a Corolla Altis. Imagine the plight of somebody who is buying his dream car with his hard earned money. Do you expect to get 10 lakhs back in liquid cash when it is already invested in some real estate mafia at New Delhi ?

I think "Skoda has never even seen Lada"

Visit http://www.teambhp.com and do a search on Skoda

similar issue is posted at http://www.consumercourt.in/car/10864-year-manufacture-issue.html

CN Jithesh/ Calicut / MARIKAR (MOTORS) LTD

I booked a Skoda Octavia Ambiente 1.9 TDi from MARIKAR (MOTORS) LTD calicut on Sept 5th 2009 05/09/09 and got delivered on 17/09/09 .When i look at the delivery time there are some damaged parts on the car which the manager guaranteed to replace the damaged Parts at the First service . According to the The Form 21 (Sale latter ) issued to me the manafacturing date opf the car was january 2009 . I was surprised how there is an 8 month delay but the manager at MARIKAR MOTORS LTD calicut convinced me by saying that there will be some delay for this kind
of premium vechiles. i accepted and took the delivery .

After 7 days when i went to RTO to register my car they find out that the car was made in 2008 from the VIN(Chasis number) and ask me to provide the Year decoder for VIN of skoda or CUT OFF Chassis as proof that this vechile is Manafactured in 2008 . Chassis/VIN : TMBCGH1U88A009754
Engine No: ALHE25966 .
When i contacted the delear they told that they cannot provide any of the things asked by RTO , you have to proceed only with the sale latter given by the delear . Now my vechile is kept at home unregistred .

When i chicked the Glass and the tyers it is clearly mentioned that the make was 2008 . With all the evidance now i strongly belive that i have been cheated by MARIKAR (MOTORS) LTD calicut and skoda .I had lots of trust on the brand when i bookd the car .
Please let me know what are the legal procedures for cheating me

I think you should consult a good advocate/lawyer and discuss the matter. Just keep in mind that you don't give too much money before the outcome. Tell him that his reward will be based on the final verdict (let's say a % of the money), so that he gets actively involved.
