Hello Mumbaikars,

I should really not be doing this, hijacking your thread for some serious OT. But I know I have the attention of all mumbaikars on this thread, so please bear with me for this once.

Received an open offer from one  Praveen Varma about proving hydroxy technology in action. Remember, once we got into a tangle with this HHO / WaterGas stuff, and almost had pounced on Anjeel Babber? Now we have an opportunity to get this proven / discredited (depending on whether it performs as touted or not).

Particularly considering CW is in Mumbai, anyone interested / logistically feasible to try this out? It will be fun...

@Krishna - I guess it is not worth the effort. The amount of gas needed to actually improve mileage will need a lot more energy to produce the gas than the amount by which mileage is improved. So in all, it works - yes gas is produced, but the process (of producing enough gas) still takes up more energy than it helps efficiently derive from the fuel - so practically the amount of gas produced is low (to keep battery drain at a minimum) which means little effect on mileage.

In my opinion this technique should work. But certain limitations will have to be borne in mind. Many of us know that at high altitudes the fuel consumption will be more due to lack of oxygen in the rarified atmosphere. This may be overcome with certain amount tweaking in the engine tuning process. In HHO technology we are getting air to the intake fold with a little more oxygen. To what extent I am not sure. But this should defnitely produce a better burning of the hydrocarbon fossil fuel.

But still I am wondering why such a simple innocuous and cheap technology is not adopted by big auto manufacturers.

Perhaps this technology may be better utilized in portable or other AC Generators

@K. A. Raheed - the problem with HHO is that it takes more energy to produce the gas onboard the car (in enough quantities) than the energy increase that the gas gives to the fuel. In other words, unless the HHO gas is produced outside the car and stored in the car, any benefits of it are negated.
